ateneo de manila department of psychology’s report on noynoy aquino’s mental health

————

this post has been getting a lot of views from Facebook. please note that this psychology report is a fake. the ateneo de manila university and fr. caluag have denied they issued this report.

read the comments section on this.

~wawam (january 31, 2015)

————

this is shocking. we now have in the internet  a psychiatric evaluation document on a presidentiable – noynoy aquino. this is the first time this has happened in this country. we thought medical and psychiatric records are private to the patient and the doctor?

that is assuming of course this document is not false and not fabricated. on tv tonight,  noynoy aquino said the document is a fake. he said many of the details are incorrect and mentioned one which is his employment when he returned to the philippines.

the document says he worked for his family when he returned to the country while noynoy said he worked for mondragon. the document also mentions aquino drinks and he noynoy says that is not true. people who know him know that he has a very low tolerance for alcohol.

the tv newscast also mentioned that the ateneo and fr. carmelo caluag, the signatory in the document has denied the document. fr. caluag said he has not signed such a document.

i suppose we will get to know more details on this one in the coming days.

we like to raise a few things.

to us there is really no big deal on the psychiatric evaluation, aquino had a depression. what is the big deal about that? is there an adult who never got depressed in his/her life?  depression is very common to adults. it happens on a daily basis to many people. it is as common as the common cold.

if this document is legitimate, a much bigger concern for us is this – how did the person get a hold of the document? was it done through illegal means?  or that ateneo cannot be trusted?

that tells me ateneo de manila university and it’s department of psychology cannot be trusted with information like these. how many more patients have they treated or evaluated whose assessment is in danger of getting published in the internet?

if the document is false, an even bigger question occurs — this i think is the lowest of the low in political dirty tricks.  and the  lengths that that they will go through to hurt aquino – harm ateneo,, the school’s department of psychology and fr. caluag.

the whole thing is mind boggling either way.

please note that denials have been issued by fr. caluag and the psychology department of the ateneo on this document. fr. caluag is saying he never signed and released such a document. the ateneo psychology department says it is not their document and fr. caluag was never part of the dapartment.

these denials are posted in this blog as well.

Fr. Caluag is a supporter of Noynoy, he knew long before that this issue will be divulged.
They will defend Noynoy to the death, anyways Fr. Caluag is sure private documents
cannot be opened to public, but he didn’t know there are anti-Noynoy inside Ateneo that released the records.
But we don’t need the actual record anyways because we know that this issue is true
      long before.

Noynoy really has a problem, at age 50, he did not take responsibility of getting married. For a normal guy, at 30 he will find his own family as well as children.
I know they have problems but all of his sisters got married.
      There is really something wrong.

Because, it’s important that the truth will be made known, Noynoy wants to be president, we don’t want to have a president which has mental problem.
      It’s scary.
If you’re a woman for example, do you want a husband with mental disorders,
you should conduct investigation first before its too late.

a depression is not a mental problem that is incurable or anything severe. everybody has a depression and they can go away as easily as it comes.

Yes,you’re right but he wants to become president. Noynoy should be fit.
We have a deep problem in our country, how can he handle the pressure?
Noynoy cant even handle his own problem, how much more our country.
The president should have matatag na loob, hindi mahina ang loob.
When all else is falling, he should be the one left standing strong.

even if its true, medical records show a diagnosis of MDD (major depressive disorder). so wut if he’s got MDD??? everyone gets to experience periods of depression, its just that most people dont have the means to consult a shrink. i thinks its better to have a president who is depressed than have a president who is a PATHOLOGIC LIAR and have DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR

    • the.truth
      April 10, 2010 at 11:51 am

“so what if he has MDD?” are you sure about this?? being a president is not an easy job! what if he becomes the president , and because of the many problems he has to face, he just might “snap”. Most of the people do get depressed, but not in a way that they need to seek a psychologist’s help. this does matter.. i don’t want a president who easily gets depressed.. we need a president who has a strong will and mind! oh please..open your eyes! let’s get real!

        April 10, 2010 at 7:01 pm

lolz you interpret MDD as if the person is a schizo. what he went through is a normal process. if you were in his shoes, wouldnt you feel as depressed seeing your father killed and all the responsibilities he left is on his shoulder being the only man in the family. seeing a psychiatrist/psychologist is a misconception here in the philippines and to those who are not in the medical field would automatically interpret it as that person being crazy. in other countries, the mere problem of not being able to sleep, not being able to control or stop smoking/drnking, depression caused by death in a family and other traumas, or relationship probems — simple problems it may seem but those already warrant psychiatric/psychological consultation. it is an uncommon practice here simply bcoz a consultation with a specialist (and numerous ffups required) would cost a lot and not too many filipinos could afford it.

        • the.truth
          April 11, 2010 at 2:30 am

I am not saying that he is a schizo. I know what a schizo is..and it is way different from having Major Depression. In addition to that, being depressed is not being crazy. You’re the one who interprets him as if he is crazy.

One quality that a president must have is being strong emotionally and mentally. All I am saying is that If he can’t handle himself with whatever situation he has to face, how can he lead the Country without breaking down?? Let’s face it, he is not qualified to be a president. If you become president, people would usually blame you for whatever wrong is happening with our country. You would be pressured to face these problems. Being depressed is having low self esteem, not able to handle any pressure life has to offer, can’t decide on things, having a hard time organizing thoughts because you cannot think well, feeling like the world is on your shoulders, then “snap”..breakdown! Having depression is within you. It can’t be prevented & can’t be healed.. Aquino is not ready to be president..and in my opinion, he will never be! Good luck to our country. if he becomes the president..

Well now, the joke is on you. Noynoy’s term is now about to end and he didn’t “snap” as you expected–running naked around Malacanang or drooling in public interviews.

I know that the subject of this discussion is about someone running for President, but as someone who also has MDD, I must say that I was deeply offended with everything you said about the condition attributed to Noynoy in this article. Contrary to your prejudiced belief, MDD is treatable (nag-Google ka man lang muna sana), and even Abraham Lincoln was believed to have suffered from an episode of depression while still in office.

I hope no one around you gets depressed–you’d probably drive them suicidal.

Wawam, I disagree with you of your above statement. Depression is a state of mind. At times we all experience depression. For example, a sick family member one will likely cause a depressed response (reactive depression). In fact, we could be considered ill if we don’t experience reactive depression. Clinical depression, on the other hand, appears without an apparent cause or reason. This depression is a disease. It is not in your head so to speak. It may be caused by an imbalance chemical messengers in the body and brain, or may come as a physical response to an illness. It may also be cause by an unpleasant event. Alcohol and other drugs can cause depression. People cannot usually look at you and tell you are depressed. It is a real disease. It is not simply a case of being sad, nor it is an attempt to seek sympathy.
    Clinical symptoms of depression.
    • Feeling unhappy or worthless
    • Chronic tiredness and worn out feeling
    • Self-destructive thought and actions
    • Inability to sleep or sleeping to much
    • Eating more than usual or not eating at all
    • Headaches or feeling anxious
    • Difficulties concentrating or making decisions
    • Unexplained physical complaints and substance abuse
    • Depression interferes with your basic ability to function in life. It upsets your relationships as well as your sleep, eating, and work habits.

    Treatment
    • Talking to a psychotherapist, chaplain, counselor or maybe a friend.
    • Antidepressant medication
    • Eating good diet.
treating depression often takes 6 month or longer.

WORSE SCENARIO: If the depression becomes severe that can lead to Schizoaffective Disorder is a condition with a combination of features of schizophrenia and a mood disorder. There are symptoms of psychotic disorder such as distorted thinking, hallucinations or delusions and depression or mania

Conclusion: if this allegations is true and Noynoy has depression, he can take the whole country down with him he ever experience another attack. It’s not just a common cold that goes away; it’s a disease that will linger inside you forever. I am a medical health care professional living in the US. Depression can be a difficult thing to handle. Can the Philippines really afford to have a president who suffers from psychotic disorder? What if it’s true? Do you want to take that risk and put your future with an unstable president?

    • April 10, 2010 at 8:17 pm

first of all, it has already been proven by both ateneo and fr. caluag that it is a fake document.

but let’s say it’s true for the sake of discussion – obviously the depression that aquino experienced has been alleviated already and he is no schizo.

also, given the family history and what aquino (and his family members) went through since childhood, we should not all be surprised that they have been hurt by the events they went through. the fact that aquino and the other members of his family are all normal now and carry on very productive lives not to mention heroic, tells us they are all very strong individuals. we should admire them for their strength and ability to bounce back from such pain.

this is really all black propaganda. and the person who did this has resources and has had this thought through. this is the work of a true criminal.

NEWS BIT: “NOYNOY” AQUINO’S “MENTALLY ILL PROFILE” IN ATENEO DE MANILA
SIGNED BY DR. CALUAG IN 1996 OBTAINED BY ABS-CBN: “Saying that a blanket denial by Aquino was not enough, presidential bidder “Manny” Villar challenged his opponent, “Noynoy” Aquino of the Liberal Party, to undergo a “psychiatric test” and other medical examinations to gauge his sanity to become President. To prove that Villar was not singling out Aquino, Villar, the presidential bet of the Nacionalista Party, said that he, too, was willing undergo a “comprehensive mental examination in order to ascertain our fitness to occupy the highest office of the land.”If “Noynoy” Aquino indeed sought the help of a psychiatrist in 1996, Villar said, it was “the right of the people to know since he is running for President. Denial should not be technical. This is a very serious matter.”The challenge, which Villar issued in an interview on dzMM’s “Punto por Punto” program, was also directed at the other presidential and vice presidential candidates.Unlike Aquino, Villar claimed he had no qualms undergoing a battery of psychological and physical tests.“Noynoy cannot hide behind his claim to privacy because the mental state of anyone who aspires to be President or Vice President is a matter of public concern,” Villar, adding, “There’s a far more dangerous scenario than the blind leading the blind, and that is for a mentally challenged person to lead a nation of millions.

I agree! Noynoy should be investigated about his history of psychotic episode. the same with the other presidentiables. Villar should also go with a lie detector about his C5 at Tiaga just to put it at rest. Of all the presidential candidates who has many issues, now who among them who has no issues who can lead the highest office of our nation? Filipinos need to think either they cast their vote to the alleged psychotic candidate or the untrustworthy candidate who refuse to come out with his own C5 issues, an incompetent and neglignent candidate who had cause hundreds of death during the Pepeng and Ondoy typhoon and the prolifiration of private armies? or candidate who was an ex-convict. Can’t you see history is repeating itself? The only wise choice is Senator Gordon. Name me one issue about him? wala! the only issue he had was his resume…this tons of accomplishment as a public servant. He is a NO BRAINER’S choice…… Tayo na sa pagbabago.

Actually, due to the lack of resources of the government, GIBO wasn’t able to help much. He did help but it wasn’t publicly heroic as people would have thought since he is running for president. It is unfair for GIBO if we blame him for the hundreds of deaths. It was a natural calamity, and there’s nothing we can do about it. As for the private armies, that was a bill passed by Pres. Cory Aquino during her terms. WE do need private armies since we lack soldiers. As for Senator Gordon, he lacks character.

Senator Gordon was once a passenger of my sister in this airline. He was seated in the economy class. He saw that all the “big” people was in the business class, he demanded that he be placed there as well. For me, that shows his character.

GIBO was also a passenger of my sister. This happened way before he was running for president. He was seated in the business class & there was also this guy seated at the economy class. The guy seated in the economy class had a cast in his whole leg. When they boarded the plane, Gibo asked my sister if they could switch places since the business class was way comfy & has much more space. He also gave his free food to that passenger. My sister back then didn’t know what GIBO looked like. My sister appreciated the passenger’s actions, so she wanted to know who this person is..and there, it was GIBO himself. After I heard my sister’s story, I knew who I am going to vote for ..

Do you see the big picture? Compassion & a man’s character doesn’t need to be publicly shown. It is what you do, even if people are not watching, matters.

I still think Noynoy should consider Villar’s challenge so that everyone can have peace of mind! If the test confirms that he is mentally stable, then Noynoy can tell Villar..”IN YOUR FACE”.. Mental depression still pertains to our mental ability to handle things up, Yes, Noynoy is not schizo but if he will become president, what more can happen? Because of the great problems that lies in our country, Noynoy might snap and jump at the rooftop of Malacanan because he can’t handle pressure.
If you apply for a police or a military position, we need a psychological test to qualify, what more then if you want to become president.
If you have mental depression, you are not fit to handle the highest position of the land, and the most difficult as it is.

If you look at it very closely if this allegation is true which we think it, Aquino has the typical symptoms of according to the printouts of his psychiatric report he has “Sleeping excessively, disoriented, and confusing family and household member’s names. He has difficulty in speech, poor coordination, impaired thinking and melancholia brought about by stresses of his work and the break-up with his flight attendant girlfriend. Clumsy and uncoordinated. He felt the deep sense of foreboding and feeling that the World was coming to an end.”
My countrymen, there is “No cure for Depression” only treatment that will place a into a remission. However, depression can easily be trigger by anything that can progress to Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) or Schizophrenia that can lead to being Bipolar Disorder typical symptoms include Manic Episode and Depressive Episode. This is a typical symptom that the famous Howard Hughes had suffered that led him to seclusion, hallucination, paranoia, impulsive compulsive. Just imagine if these accusations are true, how he can possibly lead the country. I know for sure, the “KAMAG-ANAK Inc. and the TAPOS” like the Drillon, maybe her sister Kris and her baby “James” will be running the from behind the scene. Too many issues surrounding Noynoy. Up to this time, the Aquino family still refuses to disperse the 450,000 hectares of land that they own “Hacienda Luisita” to the farmers….. Do we really want to take this chance…? I don’t live in the Philippines; I still do care what happens to my homeland… Huwag na Huwag nyong payagan na maging pinuno natin ay isang INUTIL sa gobyerno.
I did my own research of all candidates, just like Moymoy Plalaboy and Roadfill who refused to get paid by Villar to campaign for him. Instead, they have chosen to volunteer for the Gordon/Bayani Tandem for free. VOTE WISELY GORDON/BAYANI para sa pagbabago at pag-unlad.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

I see that quite a few people believe this lie. It is a very simple matter: the psychiatric report itself is fraudulent, fake since the alleged signatory of the report, Fr. Carmelo Caluag is not a psychiatrist nor a medical professional; the contents of the psychiatric report are made up, not factual.

Noynoy may have had psychiatric evaluation in the past but the results are not known.

    From FB….
I saw this in a forum, this was written by a former classmate of Noynoy in Ateneo.. if you can share make this a note so para malaman ng maraming tao talaga kung sino si Noynoy

We were classmates at the Ateneo and I have no doubt that you would remember me even if we were not close. Hint: I was one of those who ribbed you about the low grade that Fr. Kreutz gave you in math because you could never seem to get your fractions right. Remember going ballistic over that ribbing?

Anyway, reading the psychological report that was posted on the Internet a few days ago certainly made me remember you. I heard you say on the news that the report was fake but you did admit that there were some things in it that were true. “Part truths” I think were your exact words. It fascinated me enough to want to read the report carefully to check out which were those things that were true. … See More… See More… See More

Obvious things first, those facts that any of our classmates can confirm if asked. One of these is, as the report says, you have a labile disorder. This is whole truth. Even Fr. Gorospe would be distracted by your drooling during our oral exams. Fr. Ferriols, who made a point of showing he didn’t like you, would make side comments about it that led your classmates to give you the nickname “Cooper,” a reference to Cupertino school where we would teach Catechism to retarded children. I, however, never called you Cooper…. See More

The report says that you have a “major depressive disorder.” Well, I honestly don’t know if that is true. What I do know is that in school you were very temperamental and had sudden mood swings. Isang minuto, nakikikain ka kay brudda francis, maya’t maya nagagalit ka na. Many of our classmates can attest to witnessing scenes like this.

The report said that you used to go with your mom to see Dr. Manuel Escudero. That is a whole truth. I remember seeing you at Tito Maning’s high rise apartment on Roxas Boulevard when we were still kids. Tito Maning was a consultant with the WHO here in Manila but he was also a psychiatrist who treated only the high society people in Manila. Even Imelda Marcos was his patient. Unfortunately, so was my mom who suffered from insecurities due to my dad’s numerous infidelities. Tito Maning’s wife, Tita Jo, was a very good artist who had a couple of exhibits of her work before they left Manila for good a few years after martial law was declared. They lived in Topeka, Kansas. After they left, I kept a correspondence for a while with their very cute daughter Nina who I am sure you remember. I had such a crush on her. Maybe you did too. She used to talk to us “little folk” in the sala of their apartment while the “big folk” would lock themselves in the room and discuss “big folk” matters. She wanted to go to ballet school or some dance school which she did, I think, and I eventually lost track of her.

About your smoking marijuana, I also can’t say if that is wholly true. What I do know is that you would try to tag along with a group of students that would hang out with Ma’am Gloria Arroyo. Mga students niya sa Economics. She was always surrounded by bright and handsome students kaya hindi ka pinapansin. Pati si Ma’am Placer, she never gave you the time of day kasi people said you were “medyo weird” and your grades were mababa per her standards. Pero, you still tried to hang out with those guys. Trying hard to belong ba. I know those guys would drink na kasama pa si Miss Rosales na pag lasing na, kumakanta ng Spanish songs in Spanish. They would drink dozens of bottles of beer at Shakey’s Katipunan because Mrs. Ramos (our Spanish teacher in case you don’t remember) owned the restaurant. This group was also known to also smoke joints in the college auditorium, up in the closed space where the spotlights were. So, if you were hanging out with them then, you were probably also smoking marijuana too.

The report said you had a flight attend

      To: Mr. Jojo A. Robles
      Lowdown

      Manila Standard Today:

On April 16, 2010, a Friday, you agreed to give space to somebody who
hides behind a name as “Tomcat”. Why? Why did you waste your space?
If Mr. Tomcat really stands by what he says, then he should have been
man enough to state out his name in full and be proud of what he says.

I just wish to point out that I never talked to anybody named Tomcat.
So I don’t know how Mr. Tomcat came up with a statement such as the
      following:

“Pati si Ma’am Placer, she never gave you the time of day kasi people
said you were “medyo weird” and your grades were mababa per her
      standards.”

I take it that I am the “Ma’am Placer” that is being mentioned in his
letter. I admit, Noynoy Aquino was my student in college but what is
quoted there definitely did not come from me. I never said that
Noynoy’s grades “were mababa” per my standard or that I saw him as
      “medyo weird”.

Let me put it on record. Noynoy Aquino was my student in college and I
am very proud and happy that he was. I always mention this with pride
to anybody who asks me. Noynoy was a bright and humble student. I can
      attest to that.

So Mr. Tomcat, whoever you are, come out in the open and don’t use
other people’s name to give credence to your lies and below the belt
      allegations.

Mr. Robles, I hope that you will also give as much space to this
letter as you gave space to somebody who hides behind an alias such as
“Tomcat”. He maligns people and hides behind an alias. That is not
fair at all. He also name drops to give credence to his story.

Well, I will not allow my name to be used by anybody, especially for
malicious items like his letter. Please be fair.

      Sincerely,

      Salvacion Placer Angtuaco (Ma’am Placer)
      Associate Professor (Retired)
      Ateneo de Manila University

Mga Kababyan…May karapatan na malaman ito ng mga tao lalo na sa mga confused na mga supporters ni Noynoy at GIBO.
REALITY CHECK: Do you still want to vote for Noynoy and GIBO after seeing this video? Ganito pala kasakim ang mga pamilyang ito. ito ang ugali na nakuha ng mga asendero noong panahon pa ng mga kastilla. Laging inaapi ang mga kababayan nating mga Pilipino. The sad part, it goes on up to this day. Napakasakit isipin laging inaapi at nililinlang ang mga mahihirap. The only way Filipinos can prevent this kind of incident that keeps happening is not to allow this people to win the Office of the President. VOTE WISELY.

    dearest sir;
if this report was not true then how come they are able to speculate such thing , truly they must have some bearings concerning this issue. i mean they can accuse him of all possible things like enslaving the farmers in hacienda Luicita or being a part of some political
innuendos that is corrupt by nature but why attack his psychological state. It is but both a funny and scary accusation.
if this report in any slightest sense of truthfulness is in fact true then i would say sir that our country is in a big trouble. Yes you are right about people being depressed but if the kind of depression that we will be talking about is something that alters thought process or in anyway alters the persons activities then that kind of depression sir is clearly not NORMAL.
the thing about people with psychiatric difficulties is that they tend to become more engrossed with themselves that they can get destructive both to others and themselves most especially. what they need is a structured environment you can’t just leave them outside and experiencing the whole thing again that could possibly make them remember about the trauma that they’ve gone through.

so again it is very saddening if this psychological report is true because we got ourselves fooled by a dream of somebody that is clearly just compensating for himself.

The client seems to be autistic or mentally retarded not simply depressed.
