noynoy aquino’s surge in 2010 Presidentiables Blog Poll – “build it and they will come”

there  is this famous line in the kevin costner movie, “Field Of Dreams” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_of_Dreams) where costner’s character is a farmer who decides to build a baseball field in his farm to use it as an attraction for people to go to so that his farm can stay financially solvent. while walking in the fields, he hears a voice “if you build it, he will come”. he refers to costner’s dad with whom he had a few unsettled issues. kostner builds the baseball field, settles the issues with his dad and as the voice said people from all over came to see the “field of dreams”

we wonder if that is what is happening to noynoy’s presidentialnoynoy aquino surge in poll candidacy. an aquino or much less noynoy as a presidential candidate was something nobody dreamed about. that was so until tita cory died and people started thinking of noynoy. even at the time when that was thought of, people were uncertain about noynoy. he took some time deciding and during that period of consideration, we did not really know how people will  react to noynoy.

but here we are, just 3 days since noynoy announced his candidacy and the poll in this blog shows noynoy gaining as of this writing an impressive 17%,  putting noynoy already tied at second place with escudero and past villar and fernando.

when noynoy built, did they start coming in?

are we being told here that all that noynoy did was announce his candidacy and people will on their own, even without the advertising spending that villar has been doing, people will come and support him?

certainly the media has given noynoy a lot of attention, in the past few days getting on front page news if not headline news. the administration’s attempt to discredit noynoy even before he [proclaimed to be a candidate seem to indicate they see him as front runner. it was premature on the part of the administration but that seemed to be the impression they are giving us.

this is the internet and the overwhelming support noynoy got in the pol in this blog mostly came from those with facebook accounts. that hardly represents the voter profile in the country but it we can’t stop thinking of the question and yes the possibility that as it has happened in this blog, they will also come out there in the real world.

I really like Noynoy Aquino to be the next president of the Phillipines, not only he’s a son of late senator Benigno S. Aquino who sacrificed his life for our country, but also he really deserves it, he has the potential, intelligence, humbleness, courage, and divineness. Let’s give him a chance to continue his parent’s unfinished mission. I know Noynoy Aquino is the change Filipino’s have been longing for..

There are a lot from the presidential candidates list whom are really not deserving and will just take risks and huge expenses. I guess they better not pursue it or just try to run for a lower but sure position..

Mr Null can I ask you the same question but on a different tone. Ano ba ang nagawa mo for your country?

There are quiet achievers, one who does not need to publish their accomplishments to get credit from anybody. Their main joy and happiness is to see other people happy. That is how I see Noynoy Aquino. He could have turned his back and continue with his own life, but for love of country, he made a sacrifice to lead and save the nation for further deterioration. This is the time for all Filipinos to stand up and be counted.

I believe in him. I have faith with Noynoy Aquino. I don’t care with what others say, all the discrimination and other things that they do to bring down his name. Because they know that Noynoy is a tough candidate to beat. I know he is the change that we all been waiting for and asking for. Have faith guys! We can do this. Bangon Pilipinas! Bangon!

Ikaw..Ako…Tayo ang pagbabago..We are the change that we want to see…
2004 pa lang ito na ang sigaw namin: Bangon Pilipinas! Bangon!
Don’t put your faith in Noynoy or in any man, Put your faith in GOD.
If Noynoy wins, he will be president for 6 years, after that life goes on…If Eddie Villanueva wins, he will be president for 6 years and we will be living in a new Philippines.
What have I done for this country? I campaigned for change last 2004, I did it for free, I spent my own money to produce my own campaign materials, I bought posters, stickers, and pins of brother eddie. KAYO? ano kaya nyo gawin for your candidate, I’m not a fanatic, I am just Filipino looking for genuine change. Why should we settle for a lesser evil as they say, when we have an option to choose a Good man for president. Man is always looking for a better plan, but God has always been looking for a better man, because man is GOD’s ultimate plan. If you want change, find time to know brother eddie c. villanueva. Ayaw nyo sa maka-Diyos…san nyo gusto? sa maka-demonyo? Its a no brainer…peace out

Li, grabe ka naman. In effect you are saying Noynoy is makademonyo. Grabe ang righteousness mu siguro. Ang light mu kumikinang dito sa computer ko. Sana lahat ng pilipino gaya mu ka righteous. May naalala tuloy akong pharisee sa new testament.
