bro. mike velarde endorses manny villar

the news article says mike velarde, the el shaddai head has given villar a “virtual” endorsement. it means bro. mike has not actually said it but it does look like he is endorsing villar. bro. mike says they will decide by easter sunday.

don’t know what the drama is about easter sunday, but i guess that’s how they do these things – they need to wait for an auspicious day.

we are nearing the election, we should expect more of these endorsements being firmed up and announced to the public.

is there a religious vote in the philippines? previous studies we have read says there really is no religious vote in the country. beside the study, we know of  bro. eddie villanueva who ran for president the last time and he lost that one. villanueva even got less votes than the claimed membership in JIL.

though these religi0us endorsements  might not count much in the actual election, they are nevertheless very good for publicity.

HONG KONG—Surrounded by hundreds of followers wearing orange shirts and skirts, El Shaddai leader Bro. Mike Velarde Sunday virtually endorsed Sen. Manuel Villar for president during a prayer rally on Chatter Road at Central district here.

Velarde stopped short of declaring the popular Catholic charismatic group’s support for Villar, standard-bearer of the Nacionalista Party (NP), saying the group would make a collective decision on Easter Sunday. He added that the group would “vote as one.”

In his speech, Velarde hinted that he was one of those who had encouraged Villar, an old friend, to run for president.

“During the process when I was still thinking of running, I had a friend and I told him, ‘I am not running. You run.’”

Mike Velarde’s virtual endorsment does not count as an official endorsement because from its word alone, “Virtual”, which means untrue. And if he did endorsed Manny Villar, I’m sure he will also endorse the other candidates that are running for the post since the man seem not siding with anybody in the Presidential election.

this is obviously a done deal. its only a matter of timing that velarde will annnounce his support for villar.

An opportunistic cult leader placing his money on the richest candidate?

In other news, the sky is blue, and the earth is round.

    Mike’s ilk disgusts me 😦

Money matters. How many houses does he need in Ayala Alabang Village? Velarde, be honorable with your intentions.
