blog that published noynoy aquino psychiatric evaluation taken down by author/s

we picked up the supposed psychiatric assessment document of noynoy aquino from this blog –  http://politicalamateur.wordpress.com. as of this writing, the blog has been taken down by it’s authors. clicking on the link will  return this message:

we are amazed at the magnitude of this whole thing and what people are willing to do – going through faking documents, use of logos,  the signature of a priest and the writing of the contents.

we do not know if the author/s of that blog were the ones responsible for the fake document or if they were just given fake documents. it is such a big production with obvious intent to tell a lie and harm others.

on the positive side – we are equally amazed at the speed by which the bogus document was exposed. the news on the document was on the internet yesterday and was carried by tv news programs last night at prime time and was exposed anytime between midnight and this morning.

both the negative and the positive sides of this whole event can be exposed in almost an instant in the internet. that is the power of the internet.

I was able to read this blog between 10 to 11pm on April 8, Thursday. I was able to submit a comment before this blog was taken down, I think. This was my comment:

“I am a practicing [mental health professional] and this report looks fake to me. This is not how reports are written and the Axis I Axis II diagnoses at the end of page 3 clearly appears to be copied and pasted in its exact form from a textbook. The phrases indicated in the diagnosis portion of this report (e.g. “Axis I clinical disorders, including major disorders, and learning disorders”) are descriptive guidelines for specialists about what information to fill up on what Axis. A real psychiatrist or psychologist would write up the specific diagnosis on this portion of a report (e.g. Major Depressive Disorder), and not copy and paste descriptive guidelines from a textbook. Even the criteria used for Major Depressive Disorder is questionable, as MDD can only be diagnosed if it has persisted more than 2 months, and not 10 days as repeatedly stated in this report. Clearly, the writer of this report is not oriented with the correct sources.
Aside from the fact that the validity of this report is very questionable, I am saddened by the reaction of people who regard depression negatively. I am very sure that at some point in everyone’s life, they go through a sad or difficult period because that is what being human is about. The fact that Mr.Aquino has managed to achieve much in his professional life despite what he and his family have gone through is what we should be focusing on. I appeal to everyone to keep an open mind. Thank you.

Why ABS CBN could not give the news that GIBO is winning the online polls…?

      Because ABS CBN is

…and also the power of browsers:

if one is able to log on to the webpage (the blog post on noynoy’s med record by “the amateur”) earlier before the entire blog was taken down, ones browser’s History Cache may contain html (IE or Firefox) or html + snapshots (Safari) of the page. this should be done off-line or one may get the same wordpress advice posted above in opening the html.

anyway, a tech-savvy guy could easily do it.

too bad google wasn’t able to cache the webpage before it was taken down but i believe nbi sleuths may still be able to trace the blogger…if need be.

I was also able to read the blog before it got “deleted” by the author and it mentioned there that the document was sent to him by the e-mail. I was also able to see the scanned document, too bad I didn’t save it.

Anyway, I’m just wondering why he/she needed to shut down his/her blog. If the author really just got the document from an e-mail then he/she could produce the email and let the NBI peeps figure out who sent it.

Blogs are just like a news report. And what the author did is something that has happened several times before. Still remember the Lolit Solis/Piolo Pascual/Sam Milby incident? It’s the same thing.

By closing down his site, the author is basically telling us that he/she is lying.
