I would not gamble my vote to Noynoy and Mar. This two donnot know what to do…Take a serious analysis to their media commercial, they are already threating to make chaos if they lose this election…”LALABANAN KO” As I read their political platform, I’m reading between lines. During Presidential debate, his answers has no clear direction.

          March 16, 2010 at 11:05 pm

ERAP promotes mendicancy thinking. Many people may not be rich financially, but they are never “mahirap”. Filipinos are never “mahirap” when it comes to abilities and talents. “Erap para sa mahirap” is a very shallow statement because there are no “mahirap” people in the Philippines. Filipinos are very rich… only this kind of traditional thinking are keeping us from improving.

We need more Filipinos like you kmd! Really! Traditional Pinoys (TRAPO’Y) thinking that we are “poor” should by all means be annihilated or the least converted through Spirit lift! The same TRAPOYs who only complain but never bothered to instill change! They are the ones who will forever see the glass half empty and not half full! They are the ones who wait for the ‘rich’ or the government to start the change. We are a great Nation, let us all be change agents of our beloved Motherland!

President na si Noynoy. presently 85% ang rating ko sa kanya in terms of corruption in Metro Manila only because in government offices in Region 12 headed by muslims, mostly harapan ang corruption at red tape.
As to other crimes ito ang nangyari sa gobyerno ni pinoy:
DRUGS – like ERAP before with Lacson as PNP Chief, puro pusher at user lang ang nahuhuli. Unlike
      GMA, Factory ang hinuhuli.
      HOSTAGE SCENARIO – Palpak.
Paano magamit ang school building this school year in fact Division allocation was submitted
      January pa this year (2011)
GOVERNMENT SALARY INCREASE – Its PGMA program.
May nangyari or
      ebedensya ba?
      CARNAPPING – nag increase

I doubt it. Eddie. The difference is that Noynoy is running now because of the pressure of the people while Bro. Eddie is running because of the will of God. Pag nanalo si Noynoy, he is beholdden to people. That’s why we will have a righteous government. BABANGON ANG PILIPINAS

Why Noynoy? The answer, to my mind, is plain and simple. Of all the wannabes, only Noynoy can be expected to put the country’s interest first. Only Noynoy can be expected to serve with honesty. Only Noynoy can be excpected to go after all the officials of the land who have plundered this nation. These attributes will do well for a country that has been ravaged by politicians who have milked the treasury dry and have laughed all the way to the bank. Need I say more.

Honesty is not a guarantee!…Its capability, intelligence and political well that counts.
Speaking of Mar, the name Mr. Palenke was only achieved when he work with PGMA as DTI Secretary where he enjoy full support of his program… and after he became avid detractor of PGMA… Marumi na ang bunganga wala pang utang na loob. camille, do you really understand what is honesty, capability, intelligence and political will (spelling lang mali na…)
Ito, simple so you will understand..
honesty is a VIRTUE. no matter how intelligent, capable YOU are.no matter how strong your political will w/o virtue nothing counts…
look at the leaders you prefer.they are very corrupt because they do not have virtue.
si gobo pag nagnakaw, makulong ba ‘yan. HINDI.intelligent eh,capable mag hire ng mga lintik na abugado at may political WELL at POLITICAL CONNECTION ( iba yong will at well )
si villar pag nagnakaw, makulong ba ‘yan. mas lalong HINDI..
          ANG TAAS NG INTELLIGENCE MO!!!

    • September 22, 2009 at 12:30 am

A lot of us reject corruption. But that doesn’t mean na susuporta tayong lahat kay Noynoy. Noynoy has his own advantage which unfortunately is because he is an AQUINO and nothing else.

These candidates must EARN our TIWALA. Ibig sabihin dapat may naipakita muna silang resulta na dapat silang iboto.

        March 20, 2010 at 9:49 am

I agree. We have to vote for someone who CAN set this country straight. We shouldn’t vote for someone simply because their parents were good people, or because we see them often on TV, or because everyone else is voting for them, no! it’s time for CHANGE. True progress can only be achieved if we stopped voting for traditional candidates.

being plain honest is not the sole qualification of leading the whole country. noynoy may be honest as you claim but he is out to please everyone. our country is full of people who takes advantage of good people. ang mahirap kay noynoy, mahina ang kanyang personality. he easily bends and that’s frightening. medyo kasi impossible ang mga sinasabi nya. hindi nga sya ang magnanakaw. kung di naman nya kayang hawakan ang mga taong nasa paligid nya at sila ang magnanakaw, bale wala rin di ba? sisirain lang nila sya tulad ng ginawa nila sa iba. so, i guess, you would consider the whole picture in deciding for this vote. it is important.

Noynoy is just one of the few good men of Philippine politics, somehow unnoticed in critical national issues, but I think, he can be our best bet for the presidency. He portrays the demeanor of a simple, mild mannered person who maintains integrity despite being beleaguered with widespread irregularities in political circles. Go on Noynoy, we go for you.

    • jun

He is unnoticed because he has not done anything significant.

      • ewe
        November 25, 2009 at 9:00 pm

how do you define significant? he was a lawmaker and a fiscalizer. He did his job. He filed bills and resolutions on identified concerns relative to his position. Example of this bills? A resolution creating an oversight committee on the budget allocation for the Armed Forces of the Philippines. So what, you may ask. It is ensuring that the country’s resources are spent and allocated correctly. This kind of bills may not be “popular” but these are logical in a ensuring the check and balance in government transactions. How is that for democracy in action?

Noynoy may not be popular as the other presidentiables but I do believe that with Cory Aquino as his mother and the values she has instilled in all her children, he may be the statesman this country has been waiting for all these years. We do not need another politician – trapo or otherwise. what we need are persons of integrity, courage and strength. with Cory as his bedrock,Noynoy will go a long way. GO FOR IT NOY1 YOU HAVE MY VOTE!

He is NOT his mother. We should not be looking for a statesman for a statesman is someone who is baptized as so after a long, fruitful, and respected tenure. We should be looking for a civil servant who is also a man of action. God Bless Cory Aquino but this country has to move on and find our new crop of leaders.

If you are looking for a leader with

    authentic CHARACTER,
    real COURAGE for righteousness,
    and genuine COMPETENCE for change..

I would strongly endorse BRO. EDDIE C. VILAANUEVA.

Why I Think Bro. Eddie Should Be President in 2010:

What I saw from him is that a person who has a clear vision on how he will start working out our country’s development. He has plans on our country’s debt in world bank. He has plans against corruption (transparency). He has plans on our agriculture development (farm to market roads) and a lot of things detailed by him during the campaign 6 yrs ago. Those are the things that convinced me to vote for him.

Add the fact that he’s once an activist (fighting for the little and poor) and having the longest term as a Board of Regent member of the largest university of the country and not getting a cent of his honorarium and giving it to the scholarship fund, that is indeed something. For me, being an evangelist is just a PLUS for all of those things about Bro. Eddie. Honestly, being an evangelist is what least appealed to me, sorry for the others here, because I feared that he might not be able to perform well two big responsibilities at the same time but then, I believe that he will leave his post temporarily as the JIL leader when he gets elected. I know that he knows what to do better more than me.

and by the way, he’s DEFINITELY NO.1 in this SURVEY.
    (thats a fact!)

    Psalm 1:2-3 says,

“..his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers..”

i would definitely love to see a president that whatever he does PROSPERS..

    Let’s hope BRO. EDDIE wins!

    BROTHER EDDIE!
    BROTHER EDDIE!
    BROTHER EDDIE!
    BROTHER EDDIE!

            • March 24, 2010 at 4:49 pm

Ikaw nalang cguro mag explain, jun. Paano i reconcile ang Rom 3:10 at Col 3:3. Did the righteous writer (righteous because he is a believer in the son of God) of Romans exempts himself from that statment in werse 10? Or, why did Paul considered himself a wretched man despite him being already chosen as the apostle to the gentiles?

              • jundp
                March 24, 2010 at 5:36 pm

God’s plan of salvation is plain and simple but is marvelous and amazing .. He paid the price .. and when you acknowledge this to be yours then it is yours (eph 2:8,9) .. there is no action on man’s part for this salvation to be his except that he acknowledges (deciding in his mind or his heart) what the Lord Jesus did on the cross for him (luke 23:40-43) .. and in col 3:3, when God looks at your heart, He does not see your filthy heart but sees Jesus, who has covered your sins (He now has become your righteousness) which is the effect of the redemptive sacrifice that He did on the cross .. He took the blame for your sins that is why you are now considered holy in God’s sight .. that is if you acknowledge His plan of salvation .. which i can tell you boldly is the only plan ..

                • March 26, 2010 at 11:42 am

Ba’t nasabi nya yun i righteous na sya? This is the contention of pol inko di ba? Si paul din righteous na sya di ba, ngunit sabi pa rin nya he is a wretched man. Para naman maliwanagan kami for our eternal good.

Isa pa, paano yung mga baliw? wala silang wisdom like you to acknowledge God’s plan for salvation?

                  • jundp
                    March 26, 2010 at 2:38 pm

“Ang tanong ko exempted ba yong sumulat ng Romans sa verse 10?”

hindi .. no one is righteous nga ang sabi, pero ang isang born again ay righteous because of the atonement that the Lord Jesus did that we must acknowledge (john 1:12, 3:3, 5:24) ..

“Si paul din righteous na sya di ba, ngunit sabi pa rin nya he is a wretched man.”

                    romans 7:7-25 – struggling with sin –

deep within him, he has this desire to obey God but because he is still in the flesh, the natural tendency is to sin that is why he said what a wretched man he was ..

“Isa pa, paano yung mga baliw? wala silang wisdom like you to acknowledge God’s plan for salvation?”

                    romans 1:18-32 – God’s Wrath Against Mankind –

malamang ay nagkaroon siya ng pagkakataon bago siya naging baliw katulad nuong pharaoh ng panahon ni moses, nag-decide muna siya to go against God before God hardened his heart so that God would be glorified through his stubbornness ..

colosians 3:3-4 – For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

                    • March 27, 2010 at 10:29 pm

                      Malamang?

Ok, granting. Paano naman yung baliw mula pagkatao?

        • JC_Muyangerz
          April 7, 2010 at 1:46 am

@Pol Inko: May tanong ako?

Sin is more of an attitude not an action. Only those whom God made righteous through the Blood of Jesus can enter eternal life because sabi ng John 14:6, Sabi ni Hesus “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.” You will know them by their fruits (see Matt.7:16). This nation doesnt need a religious leader but a leader with personal relationship with God. Because religion without relationship with God is a smoke to the nosetril of God, He hates hypocrisy. Do not speak evil to the Lord’s annointed one – Bro. Eddie. The Lord annointed him through the prophet Cindy Jacob. “…Do not touch My annointed ones; do my prophets no harm.” 1 Chr. 16:21-22

Whatever you say against brother Eddie, the Lord is your enemy. That is the previlege of a child of God (1 John 1:9).

TV is not the only media that we can hear who Bro. Eddie is, at least you have an internet and you read about Bro Eddie.. Let’s not focused on TV but on issues.

My vote is for MR EDDIE VILLANUEVA!

In times like this, our country needs a leader who could make the Philippine society a better society— politically, economically, morally… name it. All of us are looking for a change. A change that could improve our conditions, not a change that could worsen it. Enough are the days when we are blinded by those who are in power. Enough are those days when our leaders spend our money for a lavish dinner. The next year’s election (if there will be) is an event people are looking forward to. People have to make a wise choice. In these situations, we don’t know whom to turn to. Maybe a Noynoy could be a good choice. Who knows? He got the Cory Magic.

(from my blog. ito lang din naman ang gusto kong i-comment. 😀 Noynoy could really be a good shot for the Presidential seat.)

How come? Dami namatay dun diba? Paano pa kaya ang Pinas???

let’s always be objective when it comes to serious things like our coming elections..

let’s not use our sentiments, rather use our mind and our rational sense of judgment.

look back to your history and consider that cory’s administration was the aftermath of Marcos’s dictatorial regime, corruption, and human rights violation.

let’s even be thankful that she plucked up the courage to CHALLENGE the Marcos era where fear and death was on every Filipino’s corner.

And i wasn’t born yet when Cory became president.

And yes, I am for Noynoy not because of his legendary parents (whom I really idolized) and Kris (whom I really don’t like) but because of his humility, intelligence, and integrity.

        thanks 😉

if and only if he can give an acceptable explanation about the hacienda luisita massacre .. but how can he do that when 14 people died and a lot of people hurt? .. it is not right that he KEPT QUIET and did not DO ANYTHING to fight for the RIGHT of the common tao .. he will be a terrible president of the common tao, i tell you ..

            March 18, 2010 at 5:25 pm

how do we define ‘acceptable explanation’? an explanation that satisfies our inquiries or that supplements the truth? either way, it is already a fact in our country that our country runs justice so slow and bias. nobody even noynoy or gma (hmm…) can hold the law of our country in their own hands..
the massacre was a government move, and noynoy being part of the gov’t as a senator, can we say that he is a relevant part of that move?

and as we are not sure of who will win the presidential race, we cannot also be sure if noynoy will make a terrible president.

teka, sino po ang bet nyo? 😉

yes, he has interest in selling it but could not because their family owns a mere 2% of the property.

and if my neighbor’s house is really burning, i will pack up and leave my house. kasi neighbor nga diba. and the scenario you gave is different with the hacienda massacre at all.

many critics say that noynoy is using his parents’ names as his sole support and backup in his campaign. and sometimes, i agree to that.

but even without his parents, he is an upright, intelligent, and humble man.

that’s why it’s also rightful to say that eddie must not use anyone’s name as well..much more, God’s name for he’s taking It in vain.. in vain to gain supporters and voters.

It’s not a big deal if you agree or not. you are entitled to your own opinion.

and i dont hold any candidate the responsibility to better my life because I firmly believe that it is our own responsibility. and i believe it is just wrong to believe any candidate’s promise that they will better our lives; we have heard that a lot of times..

times have changed, so must our perspectives be when it comes to this elections. and since, malayo pa ang eleksyon (or malapit), let us be open-minded to the other candidates hindi yang stick-to-one lang tayo. 😉

and even i am for noynoy, i am still opening my mind to research and get to know other candidates more. 😉

it is easier to better our lives personally, especially if you have the skill to do it, if the boat that you are in is towards the direction of progress because the one at the stern has the absolute objective to do it .. and the reason i stick with BROTHER EDDIE is because i know the man and i know he will definitely do it .. he is not beholden to anybody that he should sway from his objectives .. he is a man with a strong conviction and determination to better the lives of his fellowmen and more so to please the God who saved him ..

  18. September 24, 2009 at 7:15 pm

Noynoy is popular because of his parents(cory and ninoy), but are we really sure that he will be the same with his parents? dapat kasi meron din syang mga tract records as a leader in any organization etc… not just because of his parents.

Then another is this, we need a leader in our big-big society “Philippines” which is compose of Filipino Families.. Is Noynoy capable of leading the Filipino people who are compose of Filipino families, where in fact Noynoy has no yet family of his own. He is better to marry first, then we will see if he can manage well his family then that’s it he will be capable of being a President ” The leader of all Filipino Families…

Why not Try Bro Eddie?

    • September 30, 2009 at 5:14 pm

Dat’s why, Church and State is inseparable.

“My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge” Hosea 4:6

          • October 5, 2009 at 8:57 pm

You can’t claim ‘tama” ang religion nyo.

            • Chris
              December 5, 2009 at 9:30 pm

Ang Separation ng State and Church ay as follows:

Same with the case of Fr. Panlillo.

Ayun ang tunay na depinisyon ng “Separation of Church and State”

@Jenn Bensonia: Talagang wala namang relihiyong tama. Its is the renewing of one’s heart not a religion. Only those who have lack of knowledge that thinks born again experience as a religion (Hosea 4:6). Youre definitely wrong. Kung sa mga kandidato man lang, mas naniniwala akong may personal relationship si Bro.Eddie sa Dios because you will know him by his fruits (Matt. 7:16). Maraming Salamat

All we can do is hope and pray. But still, Noynoy, though an Aquino, he can never be Cory.

Let’s try not to link him to his late mother. Besides, if you chose him because of Cory, you would be disappointed should he take politics in a different perspective from his mom’s.

Remember: Change is the only constant thing in this world.

For me its Noynoy talaga, kasi sa mga presidentiables siya lang ang wala akong nababasang corruption issues unlike other aspirants. Ayoko din ng masyadong marunong , look what happen to the Phil under very intelligent presidents, kailangan pa bang sabihin kung sino ang mga iyon? Ayoko din ng ginagamit ang words of God , kasi I think hindi pa siya nasisiyahan sa mga kolektiones niya kaya he wants more. Ayoko din sa kabago bagong Senador biglang magpepresidente agad, sobrang ambisyon and too much ambitions corrupt the mind. This is my opinion only, I respect others though

    • December 3, 2009 at 3:36 am

      I respect your opinion too.

But, I think you can benefit more by KNOWING and READING more.

If we want change, we have the power to create it.

    • JC_Muyangerz
      April 7, 2010 at 2:34 am

@RED: Whether you read or not the word of God, whether you believe it or not, still what is written in the Bible will happen because it is the law of God that His word is in effect to all His creation. We read the word of God for our advantage that we may be aware of what is happening around us that every mystery will be explained. It is only through the word of God. Even the leadership is included in the word of God. If you will read the History of Israel in 1 and 2 Kings, you will see that whenever the king is righteous, the country prosper and have peace on every corner but whene the king is wicked, the whole nation suffer and perish. Isn’t it happening to our country today? Because our former presidents are wicked in their hearts, this nation suffered in poverty, corruption, etc. But now, we have the power to decide to put someone in the presidency in whom we can count him as a leader which is close to God’s heart – It is Bro. Eddie Villanueva. I am not vias but he is the only candidate whom I discern that the Spirit of God dwells. In Genesis 41:38 “So Pharoah asked them, “CAN WE FIND ANYONE LIKE THIS MAN, ONE IN WHOM THE SPIRIT OF GOD?”. Now, we the “ONLY CHRISTIAN NATION IN ASIA” must ask, “WHO IS THE CANDIDATE THAT POSSESSES THE SPIRIT OF GOD SO THAT WE CAN MAKE HIM OUR PRESIDENT?” I hope you get my point.

    • April 9, 2010 at 7:42 pm

Red, Bro. Eddie Villanueva is a righteous person a man of God. Though you do not know him well, do not rate him to what you do not know. The Word of God he speaks is a written Word of the Almighty who made all of us, also the heavens and the earth. Pray and ask God to give you the clarity of the mind para hindi ka magkakamali whom you will vote. Red God bless.

    • October 19, 2009 at 9:39 am

      Define righteous.

Janet, if from 2004 up to now, ECV’s camp converted, say, 13 million filipinos to be born again, then ECV would not have a problem winning. My point is: GAANO NYO MAN IPAGSIGAWAN ANG KANDIDATURA NYA, HINDI TALAGA KAYO MAUNAWAAN NG DI NYO KATULAD. Simply put: All of you ARE RIGHTEOUS and heaven-bound, the rest are evil and unrighteous, surely bound for hell. How can the rest of us who are unrighteous vote for RIGHTEOUS EDDIE, when our HEARTS are poles apart from you RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE OF GOD. Be serious first in your missions and evangelism, the rest will just follow. And then God’s glorious plan for the Philippines will happen.

Timpaul, we are serious in our tasks, 2004 is different to 2010. I know many people eventhough they are not born again, they are of different religion but they believe the righteous cause of Bro. Eddie and his supporters. Like me, they also decided to set aside their beliefs, because they cannot find a better candidate to lead our suffering nation. Its not about Bro. Eddie I am fighting for or we are fighting for but for the rights of every Filipinos, who believes that “RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL EXALT A NATION”. We are not depending on Bro. Eddie to save our country but to the Lord. Albeit, God uses someone to be His instrument, I don’t know what you are fighting for’ however, you will be responsible for your actions. Don’t be bothered of the mission and evangelism we are doing, we are bearing much fruits. God bless

The issue is not the definition of Righteousness. But our country’s sinking deep down condition because of the government’s corruption and the lack of example of a righteous leadership in the government. Now nobody is perfect and all of our righteousness is the righteousness of Christ alone. But does it mean that we as christians has to wait to vote for a godly leader until the whole country is evangelize?

The pros & cons of voting Noynoy Aquino:

Pros: He probably knows how to be President because his mom was one.
Cons: He’s already a Senator! And he suddenly ran just because he thinks he can be like his mom.

This is the first I will vote and young as I am I am fully aware of what is going on in the country. Sad to say we have not found any president the country will be proud of.Being very intelligent is a not a guarantee , being not intelligent will only worsen the situation. Probably we need somebody who have a heart ,integrity , and young who can cope with the rigors of the job.I believe Noynoy is the man because KUNG ANO ANG PUNO AY SIYANG BUNGA, MAGANDA ANG PINANGGALIGAN NI NOYNOY KAYA MAARING NA IMVIVE NIYA ANG MGA VALUES AT VIRTUES NG KANYANG MGA MAGULANG.

    • December 3, 2009 at 3:26 am

      Yes you are young…

But if you truly believe that voting a president by virtue of his parents is the way to go…

well…I doubt you are “fully aware”.

On Noynoy’s integrity, and coping with the rigors of the job, I got this from some media people who only wish to interview him, he couldn’t even entertain them and in fact blamed them dahil “pinagod nila siya dahil sa kaka-interview sa kanya”…

baka mag-breakdown siya pag presidente na.

yeah you’re probably right. “kung ano ang puno ay siyang bunga”. cory was one of the worst president this country had. we had the worst economy during her time, power shortage was worst. she was the president and yet the ninoy aquino murder was not solved. she had no political will. a very known fact about cory — she was involved in idolatry. how about ninoy? well it is a fact that he was leaning towards the communist left.

Why I will not vote for the following presidentiables:
    1. Bro. Eddie Villanueva- Baka kasi ang Kumusta ka ay palitan niya ng Praise the Lord at ang Thank you ay maging Amen.
    2. Manny Villar- Baka pati Pilipinas ay inegosyo being a very good businessman
    3. Gibo Teodoro- He is very intelligent, nakakatakot baka gawin niya ang ginawa ng ibang presidente na sobrang talino.
    5. Chiz Escudero- too cheezy for comfort.
    6. Joseph Estrada- NANANG KO PO!

Tama! I will go with that . Secrets cannot be hidden especially that God has a plan for this nation. We must be updated and totally informed on whom we will vote since the destiny of our country is at stake. Let us be united in Prayer that God will reveal the true identity of those people who are corrupt and those only who wants to control this nation for themselves. My dearest countrymen who love this nation, be vigilant, take courage in standing for truth, justice and righteousness and remember this, “When the righteous rule the people rejoices, but when the wicked rule the people mourns”. It is time for us to arise, not tomorrow, but the right time is now. Let us vote for a righteous and God- fearing leader, a servant of the Living God. BRO. EDDIE VILLANUEVA is the only candidate who can stand against the goliaths of this country, let us vote for the best. GOD BLESS THE PHILIPPINES

I haven’t heard any milestones accomplished by Noynoy,I think it’s high time for the Filipinos not to vote based on popularity or just because a candidate is being endorsed by numerous stars. We should “real” not “reel”.Noynoy seems to be riding on the popularity of his parents but other than that what are his credentials in governance? Though democracy is greatly owed to his mother the late president Cory, during her regime two things gave a lasting imprint on my mind “the coup de’tat and the long hours of brownout (blackout)

      November 25, 2009 at 9:17 pm

Try reading his website for resolutions passed. Although not too numerous but look at the kind of bills he sponsored and how these are relevant to a working democracy.

Noynoy may strike one as mediocre. He is unassuming, dresses simply and has no air of authority nor charisma about him. He doesn’t have what you may call an impressive resume. In a country that places so much premium on academic credentials, we fail to realize that at this point in the history of our nation, we don’t need a leader who will “steer the ship”, ika nga. we need a consensus builder, someone who has the ability to listen to stakeholders, draw out solutions and make the process owners accountable for their action. I think Noynoy has consistently shown us that he is listening; he understands the need for consultation, he does not presume to know everything. But what he has is the integrity to hold us accountable for our choices. How can a leader demand accountability for the actions of his people, when he himself is not accountable to his?

It is not only our leaders who are accountable for the screw ups in our country. We are collectively accountable as well. We are so morally bankrupt that we would allow the likes of Estrada, Villar and even Gloria get away with corruption. We are so used to pointing fingers, to complaining that we fail to see our own part in the equation. We deserve the kind of leadership we get. We live the kind of culture we cultivate. So if we think Noynoy is just some moron with a good surname, then we don’t deserve to move forward.

That is very true Mr. Shenbrood. Mr. Roxas the people-pleaser, Kris Aquino and all these useless celebrities pushed him to run. The will to run for the position did not come from himself. It came from other people who are using his last name and taking advantage of the death of his beloved mother as leverage. I cannot believe he cannot even see through this. He is easily manipulated by peer pressure.

Does Noynoy even have the backbone to see that all these people smiling around him today are the people who will be the death of this country in the future? Will Kris Aquino be the captain of the ship if he becomes President?

Man’s government is destined to fall. That is already prophesied in the Bible. No presidentiables, no wannabbes can restore a lost Earth, a lost paradise. Man must think, we must think, beyond our standard way of thinking. Read the Bible. The last politician will emerge that will seem to solve the world’s problems, politically. He is the antichrist. He carries the code: 666. He will be the last politician. It is none of our present presidentiables. Not even President Obama of the U.S. Unless he is destined to be the antichrist. But he is not. So we can see where politics is bringing us. We can see its direction. We can see where it’s heading us! Into a cliff! A very deep cliff. Of destruction and chaos! It’s where we are headed! To a hopeless struggle! But God is good! He provided for us a solution! He wants from us a renewal! A spiritual renewal! Jesus told Nicodimus: Unless a man be born again of water and spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. Put your trust in God, and in His Son, Jesus, the Christ, and not in men. Our politicians might have the noblest intentions to serve and to make this world a paradise again but it is destined to fail! We can do nothing bout it. It is beyond our power! The Bible said that this world is already in the hands of the evil one! We are no match against this evil one. Only Christ can defeat him and He will rule this Earth in the end! Praise be to God! Amen.

Are you really satisfied to their performance kaya sila ang napipili nyong maging president ng ating naghihingalong bansa? They are surrounded with traditional, power-starved politians, who are just trying to connect themselves with their popularity. Choose the one who can at least give a total change to the face of Philippine Politics. Hacienda Luisita ghosts back to haunt Noynoy candidacy

    GMANews.TV – Tuesday, November 17

    First of two parts

Would you like your Noynoy sweetened or sugar-free?

Until Senator Noynoy Cojuangco Aquino decided to run for President on September 9, 2009, the massacre of farm workers exactly five years ago today at the Cojuangco family’s disputed sugar plantation Hacienda Luisita seemed destined to fade from foggy Filipino memory.
Since that announcement, however, the dead farmers’ fight to make the senator’s family give up the Luisita sugar lands in the name of land reform is back in the headlines.
Why are the ghosts of the Luisita massacre now haunting Senator Aquino, who, by his own estimate, holds only 1/32 share of the hacienda, and has no direct hand in its operations?
In search of answers, GMANews.TV traveled to Tarlac and spoke to some farm workers and one of Luisita’s union leaders. A separate interview and review of court documents was then conducted with one of the lawyers representing the workers’ union in the Supreme Court.
What follows is their side of the Luisita saga. Recaps of relevant historical events have been included by GMANews.TV for added perspective.
The workers’ story begins way before the first shot was fired on November 16, 2004. For them, the seeds of conflict in Luisita were already there as early as the 1950s, and always seemed to be linked to the mood of whoever occupied Malacañang.

    Remnant of colonialism
Before the Cojuangco family took over Hacienda Luisita in the 1950s, the plantation belonged to the Spanish-owned Compaña General de Tabacos de Filipinas (Tabacalera). Tabacalera acquired the land in 1882 through a royal grant from the Spanish crown, which had a self-appointed claim on the lands as the Philippines’ colonial master. Luisita was named after Luisa, the wife of the top official of Tabacalera.
Tobacco used to be the main crop planted in Luisita, but in the 1920s the Spanish owners shifted to sugar. Sugar production in the Philippines had become more profitable because demand was guaranteed by the US quota. In 1927, the Spaniards built the sugar mill Central Azucarera de Tarlac to accompany their sugarcane plantation. Around the same year, the wealthy Cojuangco family also put up a small sugar mill in Paniqui, Tarlac. The Paniqui sugar mill was headed by Jose “Pepe” Cojuangco, Sr., father of former President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino.
In 1958, Jose Cojuangco Sr.’s new company, the Tarlac Development Corporation, bought Hacienda Luisita and Central Azucarera de Tarlac from its previous Spanish owners. Noynoy Aquino’s father, Ninoy, was its first administrator after it was bought. Joe Galvez Dollars, Ninoy, and the purchase of Luisita
By the 1950s, aggravation over the Hukbalahap rebellion made the Spaniards decide to sell Hacienda Luisita and leave the Philippines. Meanwhile, in 1954, Corazon “Cory” Cojuangco married Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. , with President Ramon Magsaysay as one of the ninongs (sponsor) at the wedding.
In 1957, President Magsaysay and Ninoy Aquino are said to have discussed the possibility of Ninoy’s father-in-law, Jose Cojuangco, Sr., buying Central Azucarera de Tarlac and Hacienda Luisita from the Spaniards. The Spaniards, however, wanted to be paid in dollars because they were leaving the country for good.
During those days, dollars were tightly regulated. But with assistance from friends in government, Jose Cojuangco, Sr. was able to get a 10-year loan from the Manufacturer’s Trust Company in New York. The Central Bank of the Philippines permitted the loan under several conditions. One of these was the eventual distribution of the hacienda to small farmers “in line with the government’s social justice program”.
Jose Cojuangco, Sr. contracted another loan with the GSIS (Government Service Insurance System) for P7 million to further finance the purchase of Hacienda Luisita and miscellaneous equipment. The GSIS granted the loan, also tacking on a condition that Hacienda Luisita should at some point be distributed among its tenants at reasonable cost.

In 1958, Jose Cojuangco, Sr.’s new company, the Tarlac Development Corporation (TADECO) became the new owner of Hacienda Luisita and Central Azucarera de Tarlac. Ninoy Aquino was appointed the hacienda’s first administrator.

Birth of a senator and a labor union
“Ang pagkakaintindi ng mga ninuno naming manggagawang-bukid ng Hacienda Luisita noon, within 10 years, babayaran na [ng mga Cojuangco] ang utang nila sa gubyerno. Pagdating ng 1967, ang lupa ay sa magsasaka na (The way our elders, the farmers of Hacienda Luisita, understood things at that time, within 10 years, the Cojuangcos were going to pay back the money they borrowed from the government. By 1967, the land would belong to the farmers),” says Lito Bais, one of the present-day leaders of the United Luisita Workers Union (ULWU). He was born on the hacienda in 1957, the year before the Cojuangco family took over. His mother was also born on the hacienda.

When 1967 came and went with no land distribution taking place, the farm workers began to organize themselves to uphold their cause. This led to the creation of the United Luisita Workers Union. 1967 was also the year Ninoy Aquino became the Philippines’ youngest senator, marking the start of his bitter rivalry with President Ferdinand Marcos.
After President Marcos declared Martial Law in 1972, his most voluble critic Aquino was one of the first people arrested. Aquino remained in jail until 1980, when he suffered a heart attack. He was allowed by the Marcos government to go to the US for treatment, accompanied by wife Cory and their children Ballsy, Pinky, Noynoy, Viel, and Kris.
    Marcos ejects Ninoy, eyes Luisita
As the Aquino family left for the US (where they would remain in exile for the next three years), a case was filed by the Marcos government against the Cojuangco company TADECO for the surrender of Hacienda Luisita to the Ministry of Agrarian Reform, so the land could be distributed to the farmers in accordance with the provisions of the loans given to the late Jose Cojuangco, Sr. in 1957. Cojuangco had died in 1976.
Outside Luisita, this lawsuit was seen as an act of harassment against Ninoy Aquino’s family by the Marcos government. Inside the hacienda, however, the farmers thought luck had finally turned in their favor and land distribution was coming. (Whether or not the Marcos government really intended to distribute the hacienda to the farmers is a matter for conspiracy theorists to decide.)
SUGAR AND POLITICS. Truckloads of newly harvested sugarcane await delivery to the Luisita’s sugar mill. For the hacienda’s farm workers, the seeds of conflict were already there as early as the 1950s, and always seemed linked to the mood of whoever occupied Malacañang. Joe Galvez
According to Bais, the widow of Jose Cojuangco, Sr., Demetria Sumulong Cojuangco, fought to keep the hacienda. “Inilaban ni Doña Metring, yung nanay nila Cory, na wala raw silang inabutan na tao [sa hacienda], kaya wala raw benipesyaryo, kaya ang lupang ito ay sa kanila (Doña Metring, the mother of Cory, said there were no tenants in the hacienda when they took over, therefore there were no beneficiaries, therefore the land belonged to them),” he says. “E, tignan mo naman ang lupang ito. Paano mapapatag ang lupang ito? Paano makapag-tanim kung walang taong inabutan? (But look at this land. How else could this land have been tamed? How could it have been cultivated if there were no people here when they took over?)”
In the meantime, vague rumors of a planned conversion of the hacienda into a residential subdivision or airport, or both, cropped up among the farm workers. (This was possibly due to the decline of the sugar industry in the Philippines after the US quota ended in the 1970s. Conversion became a buzzword among big landowners all over the country. In Negros, for instance, landlords were mulling conversion to prawn or bangus farms.)
The Marcos government pursued its case against the Cojuangcos, and by December 1985, the Manila Regional Trial Court ordered TADECO to surrender Hacienda Luisita to the Ministry of Agrarian Reform. The Cojuangcos elevated the case to the Court of Appeals.
    Cory ejects Marcos, keeps Luisita
That same month, December 1985, President Marcos announced snap elections would be held on February 7, 1986. Cory Aquino, now a widow after Ninoy Aquino was assassinated in 1983, was fielded by her late husband’s allies to run for president against Marcos.
The elections took place in February 1986 amid an atmosphere of violence and accusations of massive cheating. Marcos was declared winner, but was subsequently ousted by the People Power revolution. Cory Aquino was sworn in as president. Her revolutionary government dissolved Marcos’s 1973 constitution to pave the way for drafting a new constitution. Land reform, one of the pillars of Cory Aquino’s election campaign, was to be a highlight of the new constitution.
Mendiola, a portent of the Luisita massacre
On January 22, 1987, eleven months into the Aquino administration, the Mendiola massacre happened. Several thousand frustrated farmers marched to Malacañang demanding fulfillment of the promises made regarding land reform during the Aquino campaign, and distribution of lands at no cost to beneficiaries. Police tried to disperse the farmers, but the situation went out of control. At least one dozen farmers died on the spot. Many more were seriously injured.
President Cory is said to have fast-tracked the finalization of the land reform law because she was deeply affected by this tragedy. The new 1987 constitution took effect in February, the month following the Mendiola massacre, and five months later, on July 1987, President Cory signed an executive order outlining the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law. She expanded the coverage of land reform to include sugar lands.
The outline of the new law also included a provision for the Stock Distribution Option (SDO), a mode of complying with the land reform law that did not require actual physical transfer of land.
    Stage is set for “SDO”
By May 1988, the Court of Appeals dismissed the case filed in 1980 by the Philippine government—under Marcos—against TADECO to compel the handover of Hacienda Luisita. It was the Philippine government itself—this time under Aquino—that filed the motion to dismiss its own case against TADECO, saying the lands of Hacienda Luisita were going to be distributed anyway through the agrarian reform law.
A month after the case was dismissed, in June 1988, the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law took effect. The provision for SDO that it included would be availed of by the management of Hacienda Luisita and about ten other haciendas around the country. Through the SDO, the requirements of the agrarian reform law can be addressed without a direct transfer of land to tenants.
Conflict over the SDO would trigger the November 16, 2004 massacre of farmers in Hacienda Luisita fifteen years later.
    (To be continued)

I doubt it. Eddie. The difference is that Noynoy is running now because of the pressure of the people while Bro. Eddie is running because of the will of God. Pag nanalo si Noynoy, he is beholdden to people. That’s why we will have a righteous government. BABANGON ANG PILIPINAS

Up until now I still doubt Noynoy’s Capacity, given a chance to be the president. If he isn’t the son of a political martyr and a former president, what qualities of a leader does he possess that sets him apart from other presidentiables? If Cory didn’t die August 2009, never will there be Noynoy for president in 2010 (did that ever cross our mind prior to Cory’s death?), thats for sure! Indubitably his popularity right now stems from his parents alone, not by his own track record or credentials hence we cannot completely say Noynoy’s qualities is that of Ninoy much less Cory. Although some says he is the most upright candidate, etc.. What could be their basis then? considering also that in his party, many are so-called trapos/opportunists too, thats seem to benefit from “free-riding” the Yellow Ribbon hype.

We must and should vote for a man who has a very clear vision for the alleviation of our country’s economic situation.

Noynoy has been Congressman for 9 years and Senator for 3 years. A total of 12 years of government. What did he do in that time? 8 Bills filed and NONE passed into law.

Mar Roxas claims that Noynoy is superior to his cousin Gilbert Teodoro but I found this ridiulous whether you support Teodoro or not: Given only 9 years as Congressman, Gilbert Teodoro filed 500+ bills and half a dozen passed into law. And to think that isn’t even the end of Teodoro’s track record and it already makes Noynoy Aquino look like a bum in comparison.

I cannot believe that Noynoy’s supporters cannot see how Roxas is using him to make himself appear a hero as if Mar’s padyak ads weren’t even enough. Had Cory not died Noynoy would have never been in Mar’s radar screen. Seeing the number of people who turned out for Cory’s funeral, Mar decided to play “hero” and make Noynoy king.

I have no idea as to how anyone can think of Noynoy and Mar as righteous when they are sinking into the ways of traditional politicians. They are accepting traitors, trncoats, leftists. rebels, and all these other people into their party to win by numbers. If Noynoy cannot control his party, what more when he becomes president?

Practice what you preach.

Gud morning, Mr. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino…I am a 3rd year nursing student from tacloban city, leyte. In one of our subjects, we are asked to ask certain questions to the 2010 presidentiables. Since you’re one of them, I would just like to ask you a few questions. I hope it’s all right with you, sir. And as a citizen of this country and as a registered voter, I am also interested to know what you plan to do. The questions are as follows: If youi would win the 2010 presidential elections, what are your plans that would help in the progress of our country? If and only if you would not win, what are your plans? I am hoping that you would find time to answer these questions, sir. It would be of great help to me and to my studies. You may email your answer to louella_anne16@yahoo.com. Thank you so much and God bless..

    Sincerely yours,
    Louella Anne

    • January 5, 2010 at 9:35 am

louella anne – i am not sure if the presidentiables themselves read this blog. perhaps their staff or their PR agency does but even that is not certain. having said that, you have very little chance at getting a direct answer from them on your questions.

i suggest you go to their websites and post these questions there. but even doing that might not get you what you need.

i think your professor has given you an impossible assignment to fulfill. the assignment is too unrealistic to get results for, specially on the part of getting a direct answer from them and the number 2 question.

for the number 1 question – you can extract an answer for it by reading their platforms of government. some are available in this blog. if its not available here, go to their websites or read press releases and news articles.

      good luck .

To my fellow Filipinos who already have chosen their candidate for president on May elections, please think about these thoughts:

If Noynoy was not born Aquino, would you vote for him according to his performance in the senate?

If Villar was not so rich and couldn’t afford to pay billions of pesos for his infomercials, would you vote for him according to his record of accounts?

If Gibo was not a bar exams top-notcher would you vote for him according to his performance as a National Defense secretary?

If Erap was not an ousted president/actor, would you vote for him according to his credibility?

If Eddie V was not a religious leader, would you vote for him according to his executive experience… if there was?

If Gordon was not unpopular, would you vote for him according to his achievements as mayor of Olongapo, chairman of SBMA, chairman of PNRC, secretary of tourism department, and chairman of the blue ribbon senate committee?

stop on saying so many bad things against all of the presidentiables an against each others.

try to look at yourself in the mirror and start on changing all the bad things that you have done.

The advertisement of Noynoy commiting to his family’s philosophy is already very much known by many Filipinos. There must be change in strategy to his promotional ads to a more “masa freindly” scenario. His being alone in his prsent advertisement is counter productive to his intention since running a government of a people includes the millions of Filipinos in all wals of life. Thus needing a revision to his promotional ads. To Noynoy, or Cris, or even to councilor Solidad, please take a note on this suggestions, though I know that you have a more hands on experience than me in these field. I would just like to contribute to Noynoy to entice more votes these election.
On the other hand, I was reading the comments of others while brousing to make a comment, and I would like to comment on those who are saying that Gordon did so much than the Cory during her stay in office. My freind, you may be right on that but, projects done by government officials usually carters to corrupt practices. Knowing the Aquinos who are guided by the philosphies and ideals of Ninoy, (minus Cris way of life: no offense). The Aquinos do not involve themselves to highly corrupt projects. I have a freind who approuch Noynoy to cater his medicine distributing business and because in medicine there are many anomalies at that time, he frankly informed us that he do not involve in such projects that are riddled with so many issues. Meaning to say, he did not want his good name to be dragged on any anomolouse (if my spelling is correct) projects. These is the kind of man that must lead our country. These is very crucial because many Filipinos are in dire need of hope, of change and of oppurtunity. Equal distribution of oppurtunity that is.

Don’t rely on the words of politicians, don’t be deceived by their promises… Don’t believe on issues without proof or evidence.. be a critical investigator to our candidate. Remember ERAP, while still a senator, no malpractices issued against him except womanizer, but when became the president.. ERAP LALONG NAGPAPAHIRAP.
I’ll give you clue, Study the platform of politicians. If they don’t have specific, concrete and feasible solution… meaning they will just bring us to the wilderness. They are like a ship captain traveling without map and compass.

The chracter and well being of a person is a very important manifestation of his honesty, loyalty and his belief in the almighty. This characteristic must be held by the next president of these country. For those who are just commenting regarding issues of non-importance, let me tell you these: you may not find importance on the persona of a presidentiable, nor do you find importance to a person commitment, but surely there are many who are serious and silent hoping that change will happen, will transpire and will give hope, maybe not to you but at least to many who knows and experienced what had happened during the term of the present administration.

We look for a president not only to lead our country but our interest as well. The inhenyeros would like a president who see public spending in infrastructure to be their choice. The CBCP wants a president to adhere to the teaching of the church. The media practitioner would like a president who they can easily interview. For fellow politicians, they would like a president who distributes pork barrels and IRRAs. And for the military, they look for a president who will seek them for his defense. We have seen these form of governance in the current administration. But did we all get a fair share of the pie? The “PIE”; everything is about the pie…
We lost track of the fact that we are the captains of our destiny, sailing in the waters of Philippine governance. Make it issues or news, we are affected. We often want to be in deep waters, in strong winds and with harmony among waves. We would like to be directed, not led, to our ports. Protected against pirates and others who does the same. So we must look for a Director; someone who will direct us towards deeper waters, away from threats of piracy, and who knows the the waters of Philippine governance so as for us not to be aground, not to run ashore and to continue sailing in the vast ocean of Philippine issues and oppurtunity. Someone who is responsible but not tempted for his interest. Someone who cares. From his Father to his Mother, let us support his care.

    ISANG TULA

    ==================================

    Mga kababayan kong kristiano,
    Magkaisa na po lahat tayo,
    Ng pag-suporta sa isang kandidato,
Na walang ninanais kundi kapakanan mo.

Aanhin mo sipag, tiaga at talino,

Some are very “Bastos” iyong iba naman halata mong pilit na idina divert ang issue just to protect Manny Villar. CORRUPTION IS THE NAME OF THE GAME. LET US BEWARE.

CURRENT OBSERVATION TO OUR SIN-AUTHORS ATTITUDES(Source: TV News)
Villar: C-5 Extension, I believe on the issue that there was vested interest on
the part of Villar to value more his housing business… Look what
happened to the project?… Hindi matapos-tapos yan.
Noynoy Aquino: North express-way via Sta, Lucia property… Take note, Noynoy will
invest in housing business after election, win or lost. Sabi niya sa
    political ads, “HINDI AKO MAGNANAKAW”…

HINDI GAGAWA NG MATINO ANG DALAWANG ITO…Segurado yan.

Sa nakita ko sa senado kanina, I was dismayed and repent why I voted Nonoy, Mar Roxas, Pet Cayetano and Villar. They don’t deserve my one precious vote…. They are wasting the money of the government whom they criticize the leader.

Nonoy and Mar possess the attitude of true TRADITIONAL POLITICIAN,.. yon bang walang nakitang maganda sa ginagawa ng leader… TUNAY NA UTAK TALANGKA… Its easy to identify traditional politician… If politician keep on making issues (mad slinging)against his opponent.. yon na yon… dahil wala siyang matinong platform na maibigay sa tao…

‘HINDI AKO MAGNANAKAW”… Joke lang.. .
Erap says ‘WALANG KUMPARE” Hindi ka kasama doon pare….
“WALANG KAMAG-ANAK”….

Is there something wrong with that ?

Go Go Go for Gilbert “GIBO” Teodoro Jr…

As part of new generation. GIBO is the most prominent for president.

All of the candidates are intelligent and has the capacity to be a leader. But not all of them is fitted for the presidential position.

Villanueva???????? ha!!! Wasting his time filing the candidacy!!! NO NO NO NO NO

Delos Reyes and Perlas?????? dont know you guys… philippines is composed of thousands of islands and millions of people… just kept your fund to your wallet or else you may lose it.

Estrada??????????? He is intelligent but not wise.. Only his cabinet members, people encircle him and other parties are intelligent and wise dictated him to ensure and protect their interests (kawawa – nakulong dahil sa bisyo ng iba).

Madrigal????????? “TraPo” stop dreaming, you wont even catch a single vote from (south) us…

Aquino??????????? Can’t think anything of you. A teen boy hiding sa saya ng nanay.
or just go to the flow. Sen Aquino, we are not in 1970 or 1990’s, new generation na po. stop recalling what was your parent had made for the phil govt. i believe the late benigno aquino is very competent enough to be a good leader for us. And the mother of demokratikong pilipino late pres. aquino thanks for her goodness by abiding us. But (NOYNOY) sorry it would not be the reason why we should cast our votes to you. You are not competent enough to be our ruler.

Villar Good as well to be a president (Manny or Gibo hmmmm). The C-5 controversy is nothing, just the same with the others like Aquino (Las Haciendas Luisita)

GIBO GIBO GIBO GIBO GIBO GIBO GIBO parin……………………………………

I have made “The Change in Man”. Goodbye Noynoy, Hello GORDON!

I have been known in the past as a staunch Noynoy supporter and despite the “high” I get from wearing yellow every Friday and people sharing with me slogans such as “siya na nga” and “hindi siya magnanakaw”, I have had discussions with my friends questioning if my erstwhile choice of Noynoy was a decision arrived properly. At first I got defensive and told them off saying he has a legacy from his mom and dad and he can unite the country. They then challenged me to research any significant accomplishments Noynoy has but sadly, my search proved futile. I then realized that rooting for Noynoy is such a dumb idea.

The following are my reasons for NOT wanting to vote for Noynoy anymore:

    1. Noynoy has a GROSS LACK of accomplishments

He had 9 bills filed in 11 years and none became laws. He claimed to have “fiscalized” but no tangible data can be provided or researched based on that claim.

    2. The “Aquino Legacy” CANNOT “Unite The Country”

This is a myth. Cory has an even stronger “Aquino Legacy” and yet she had the most coup attempts and released Joma Sison who up to now has caused divisiveness in the country. Even his own Liberal Party and campaign staff is factionalized because of his weak leadership so “Noynoy can unite the country” is such a dumb statement.

    3. Noynoy Aquino IS CORRUPT and is of BAD CHARACTER.

I researched that he is one of the highest spenders in the Senate and yet his work output is negligible. Anyone who collects money and is allocated a budget yet has nothing to show for it is GUILTY of CORRUPTION.

Richard Gordon meanwhile, has good character and a lot of accomplishments. He has led Olongapo out of the ashes of Pinatubo and made it into a vibrant place even without the Americans. I also like what he said that “WHAT WE NEED IS NOT A CHANGE OF MEN, BUT A CHANGE IN MAN”.

In Olongapo when the Americans left and Pinatubo devastated the city, he turned ordinary Filipinos (who usually have the “kaawaan niyo kami Willie, pahingi ng pera” mentality) into men and women who are capable of shaping their own fortunes. They rolled up their sleeves, picked up their tools and rebuilt their city. THAT’s the kind of person we need.

I will not for people who merely say things, I will vote for people who DO things.

Salamat sa mga nakakachat ko who say they will support me whoever I choose. Thank you too for hearing me out.

    GORDON – BAYANI EVERYONE!

  134. February 16, 2010 at 11:10 am

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”

Bro. EDDIE VILLANUEVA is the answer, he is righteous dahil he was been made righteous because of the Lord Jesus who died at the cross for you and me. We must remember that the destiny of our country and the next generation depends on our choices. Bro. EDDIE is the only preson we can trust, because only a person who has the fear of the LORD and hate sin can truly bring a true change to our beloved nation.

Obviously Mr. Pol Inko, nagsearch kalang ng verse para ipakita that there’s no righteous. Do you know when we receive Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior we become righteous? Magbasa ulit.

21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, -Romans 3:21-22

Document Title: Who’s Afraid Of Dick Gordon?
        Document Ref No: R9601071
        First Published: TBA
        Publication Date: 7th January 1997
Author’s Name: Father Shay Cullen SSC
I’m not, despite years of harassment and threats. But many others are and who can blame them when Mr. Gordon is quoted in the Inquirer as saying; ” I don’t get mad ,I get even”. But even that quote is not true. In my 27 years experience here I know that Mr. Gordon gets very mad and then gets revenge. This just about explains why there is hardly ever a word of criticism about this government official who spent as much as P22 million on weapons, leg-irons and anti-riot equipment for Subic according to the SBMA 1994-95 budget. It also includes body chains, sniper scopes and 200 batons and riot shields as reported in my former “Reflections” in the Inquirer.

The silence of the lambs in Olongapo and elsewhere is understandable when faced with such weaponry and veiled threats. A Gordon controlled press office sees to it that endless praise releases are published with much fan-fare. If ever there have been critical reports readers will never know because we never see any, at least not since the demise of my column “Reflections”. Fearless views about Gordon are few and far between in the Inquirer these days.

Now all we get from the Inquirer is a weekly page of the Subic Bay News edited by a former CIA agent who also writes Gordon’s speeches and is proud of it. Let us never forget that when free speech is stifled dictatorship is alive, when news is replaced by propaganda the truth is dead. Under such veiled threats about “getting even” how could there be any credible independent research to verify the self-serving claims of Mr. Gordon about the success of the SBMA and himself as a great leader or an impartial enquiry into alleged abuses, exploitation and corrupt practices. The people or the media can never really know can they? Other media personalities with business interests and house leases at Subic find it hard not to look the other way when well founded allegations of corruption comes to light.

I have been silenced, threatened, spied upon, video taped and photographed, my phone interfered with and I have been under on-going surveillance since 1993 by Dick Gordon’s Subic secret intelligence unit for speaking out about human rights abuses. Enlarged photocopies of my photograph have been posted at the security gates to prevent my entry into the Subic Freeport area.

My co-workers, dedicated to upholding human rights, have also been harassed and black-listed on the records of the SBMA. The good thing is that honest God-fearing SBMA employees have courageously passed me the documents testifying to this. So if Gordon ever gets more power, then, as he says, he really will “get even”.

    timpaul :
    Malamang?
Ok, granting. Paano naman yung baliw mula pagkatao?

wala pa yata akong narinig na baliw mula pagkapanganak .. ang alam kong baliw ay yung nasiraan ng ulo .. nangyayari ito kapag ang isang tao ay nag-abuso sa sarili (drugs, alcohol, etc.) at puede ding dahil sa problems, depression, etc. dahil nauubusan ng nervous energy sa sobrang kaiisip (neurasthenia) .. kung tungkol naman sa mga may down syndrome, etc., i believe in a just God that will deal with them accordingly .. tayong may mga wastong pag-iisip na nabaliw, tayo ang pumili nito kaya dapat tayong mag-ingat sa mga desisyon natin sa pang-araw-araw na buhay .. nandiyan ang kaaway at ang kanyang mga sangkap na nakahandang kumilos sa oras na ang isang tao ay panghinaan ng pag-iisip ..

  170. March 28, 2010 at 12:22 am

yung mga walang isip mula pagkatao ang ibig kong sabihin(yes, down’s syndrome is one). Yung mga walang wisdom ‘ika nga to acknowledge. Sana puro may down’s syndrome nalang lahat para God will deal with us accordingly. I am sure He will be fair to the walang wastong isip mula pagkatao. Kasi ang mga taong may wastong pag-iisip ay di makapagdecide on what is good (parang oxymoron, di ba). Katunayan, lahat ng pumapasok sa “wide gate and broad road that leads to destruction” ay may mga wastong pagiisip, right? Well, okay, “wastong pagiisip na nabaliw”. This is in relation to the eternal good na sinabi mo.

      March 31, 2010 at 2:34 pm

yes, that is what i am trying to say .. are you agreeing with me on this point? ..

      • April 1, 2010 at 1:18 pm

In part, jun. You see, man is born with a sinful nature, right? How can he have a wastong pag-iisip to acknowledge if he is depraved inside (inherited from Adam). To put it more clearly, if all are wretched (Paul’s word) from birth, why are some able to acknowledge God’s work, like you did, and have this eternal good that you said, while some, well most, can’t?

        • jundp
          April 11, 2010 at 4:58 am

the effect of adam and eve eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is in the name of the tree itself, knowing what is good and what is evil .. this we have inherited and is in the conscience of each and every human being because we are all descended from adam and eve .. the ability to distinguish the difference between what is good and what is evil is inherent in each and every human being .. each and every human being has this capacity to think of what is good and what is bad for him .. it is in what we decide for ourselves that charts our destiny .. God has set the rule of how we are to get right with Him .. read, search and study the Scriptures so as to find the truth while we are still in the flesh because once our spirit departs from this temporary tent, where we are put is final (luke 16:19-31) .. ask God for wisdom to understand and God guarantees that it will be given even if we are in sin (james 1:5) and do not let the enemy blind you with his lies .. we should be as an exegete in approaching the Word of God .. let the Word of God speak to you and not the other way around because who can give God counsel (job 38)? .. can we force God to change His mind specially in a major thing like this? .. which He even spoke about when He confronted adam and eve of their disobedience in the garden of eden .. do not be stiff-necked in what you believe in because you cannot impose on God your ideas or opinions .. heaven and earth will pass away but His words will never pass away (matthew 24:35) .. paul in his inner being wants to please God but because he is still in the flesh, he still commits sins which btw has been paid for by the Lord Jesus because he belongs to His body, the church (ephesians 5; colossians 1) .. this is the wretchedness that he spoke about but still, he is righteous in God’s sight because of the atonement that he acknowledged (colossians 3:3) .. the adversary and his elements work in 3 avenues, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life .. walang taong walang konsyensya .. lahat meron .. ang pagkakaiba-iba ay simple lang ang paliwanag .. kapag mas manipis ang balat ng konsyensya, mas tama ang gagawin, vice versa, kapag mas makapal ang balat mas mali ang gagawin .. kaya sikapin nating panipisin ang balat ng ating mga konsyensya .. ito ay para sa ating ikabubuti ..

          • April 16, 2010 at 1:45 pm

Kawawa naman yung born of families or tribe na walang mga consyensya. Dehado talaga ang tao if his destiny depends on his choice. Born of sinful nature from adam (not man’s choice) plus, blinded by the enemy, again not his choice (II Cor 4:4). And then no one comes to Jesus unless the father draws the person (John 6:44). Again not man’s choice, right? Kawawang tao. It is not man’s choice to be born and then God gambled on his eternal destiny.

Sa storya sa luke, jun. Tanong ko lang. If we are to be CONSISTENT in translating the way you do to prove a “literal” and “eternal” hell, then the following assumptions must also be eqally true and strongly preached to warn and encourage those concerned: 1. The poor are sure to go to heaven. 2. The rich are to be burned in hell (kawawa si villar). 3. from verse 25, what we have in this life (good or bad) is what determines eternal destiny contrary to what you said that it is our choice. 4. While you christians enjoy your bliss in heaven you will be watching the damned (some of whom may be your office mates or loved ones and friends, jun) eternally burned and tormented in hell. Which begs the question: Will there be real joy in that? Or will God wipe out your memory, Jun? ( Note: I can understand if you will obtain joy in seeing me burn in your hell along with all the unrighteous bloggers here, but what about your relatives or loved ones. I am sure not all of them prayed the sinner’s prayer, jun, even if you preached to them without lit up.

              • April 16, 2010 at 4:02 pm

I Tim. 4:9-10 and I Tim 2:3-4. Ito ay consistent sa sinabi ni lord about his death and drawing all men and God’s overall plan for His creation in Colossians 1: 15-20. At sa roma 1 na rin… we are for His pleasure indeed.

Would there be fullness of your joy if you see any of your friends or relatives and love ones burning in your hell. As I said, I can understand if you will find pleasure in seeing me burning in your hell, jun.

                  o sige, basa ..

                  Luke 16:19-31
19″There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22″The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
25″But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’
27″He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father’s house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
29″Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
30″ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
31″He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

                  I Tim. 4:9-10
9This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.

                  I Tim 2:1-4
1I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.3This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

                  John 5:24-30
24″I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. 25I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. 27And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.
28″Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. 30By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

                  • April 19, 2010 at 3:14 pm

I lost your heart and conviction. So let me ask you again this very personal question, jun:

Would there be fullness of your joy if you see any of your friends or relatives and love ones burning in your hell. As I said, I can understand if you will find pleasure in seeing me burning in your hell, jun.

  171. March 28, 2010 at 12:41 am

Ngunit, jun, di ko pa rin maintindihan bakit si Paul sinabi nyang no one is righteous even if he already has the full knowledge of his own justification? Sa iyong explaination, cguro dapat sinabi nya: No one is righteous except those who acknowledge that Jesus is Lord and that he died for one’s own sin. Or something to that effect. When you really ponder upon the truth of verse 10, you get the impression that Paul feels the weight of man’s utter helplessness to make himself upright with God, his being so evil inside and his being so depraved as to even look up to heavens. This, regardless if one has already been justified in God or not. In fact, I believe this truth is more glaring to those who is already in God (like paul himself). That’s why Paul’s statement. Well, just a thought…

My entire family supports Noynoy Aquino, all of my family except me. I agree with leah that we obviously have far to go before we learn from our mistake. Take Joseph Estrada for example. People voted for him because of his name. If he was not the famous action movie star we know as Erap, we would shut him out from our votes. Our primary focus on names is embarrassing. If someone with valedictorian credetnrials and suma-cum-laude awards ran for office. With decades of political works behind his back, ran for president. We would all vote for him. But what is his name was Damian Cockburn, or Tite McPukeh, would you vote for him or just laugh at his name. I believe Noynoy is running on the name Aquino for his election. He wont spend billions of pesos on advertisement like Villar, he can just ride on his name: Aquino. On the other hand, his intentions on presidency are vague. In this time of great trouble for the Philippines, where nationalism and self-righteousness are not fostered, we need someone we can trust. Someone we can understand. Someone who does not ride on a name.

    • April 1, 2010 at 1:35 pm

“n this time of great trouble for the Philippines, where nationalism and self-righteousness are not fostered, we need someone we can trust.”

That’s exactly the point. That’s why I’m not voting for Noynoy. Turst should be gained and I can’t trust him just because of his promises. In the long run, its the performance – not promises – that count.

“Someone we can understand. Someone who does not ride on a name.”

Excuse me. But I have yet to see an ad where he doesn’t have to mention about his parents. This disappoints me. When will he learn to be self-reliant and stand on his own feet? Actually, I doubt people would vote for this guy if they will assess him based on his track record in the Senate. He’s been there for many years and lets face it, tiga-butas lang sya ng upuan sa Senado. Would anyone vote for him if he was not Aquino?.. I dont think so!

JC_Muyangerz :@Pol Inko: May tanong ako?
Sin is more of an attitude than an action.

Yun ngang survey ratings nila di nila matransform ang Pilipinas pa kaya. Maybe they should improve first their ratings then transform it into votes by May 10. That is the real transformation.

Ok, jundp. Jesus spoke of the manner of his death: On the cross, being lifted up from the earth. It is thru his death that He will draw ( accurate translation from the original greek word is drag- meaning no one can resist his Love, His will, if you will) all men to himself. But you will not understand this because you are blinded by religious traditions. Katunayan: Your image of your Father in Heaven, jundp, is no different from most of the world’s image of God, the roman catholic’s, even most of the pagan nations’- THAT OF AN ETERNAL TORTURER. BTW, the context of ISA 55 is about God’s goodness. Unfortunately, you used it to justify His cruelty. Now, back to my question: Do you believe your Lord Jesus when he said, “I, when I be…” Or you believe that Jesus will fail to do what he said he will do?

“It is thru his death that He will draw ( accurate translation from the original greek word is drag- meaning no one can resist his Love, His will, if you will) all men to himself.”

just to argue with you, “all men” as God intended them to be .. we must understand the Scriptures in its entirety because i believe in a God who is consistent in what He is saying .. do not be like most of the sects that pick out only from God’s Word what justifies their individual doctrines ..

      =======

“But you will not understand this because you are blinded by religious traditions. Katunayan: Your image of your Father in Heaven, jundp, is no different from most of the world’s image of God, the roman catholic’s, even most of the pagan nations’- THAT OF AN ETERNAL TORTURER.”

that is your opinion but i would rather believe what God’s opinion is in His Word and not on your opinion which is a product of your imagination .. they will go to eternal damnation because that is what they CHOSE .. they cannot blame God of the effect of their CHOICE .. God has set down the rules in His Word and the best and only thing we can do is abide by His rules so as not to reap the effect of disobeying God .. God certainly will not abide by your rules ..

      =======

“the context of ISA 55 is about God’s goodness”

God’s goodness to those who will “come”

      =======

“Unfortunately, you used it to justify His cruelty. Now, back to my question: Do you believe your Lord Jesus when he said, “I, when I be…” Or you believe that Jesus will fail to do what he said he will do?”

like i said, He has set down the rules .. all you need to do is obey .. He is not being cruel but being just .. you take a portion of Scripture and interpret the way you want to interpret it and contradict a lot of Scriptures .. i believe in a consistent God in what He says .. and back to your question, my answer is at the beginning of this reply ..

Ang labo ng sagot mu, jun? Yes or no lang naman ang sagot. Baka mali ang translation ng verse nu? Ito dapat siguro: “I, when I will be lifted up from the earth, will draw a very few men to myself”.

Di ba sabi ng Psalm His love endures forever? Does your God love the sinners only in this life, jun? Does your God change, jun? Loving now vindictive in the next life? Nagcontradict na naman kasi sabi nya he will not change. Ito pa, your God commands to love your enemies. Ito ba yung consistent na god of love mu who the bible says never fails?

Your God is good only to those who will come?

His ways are higher na naman? Or that it is His rule what can we do?

Do you really know the heart of your Father in heaven, jun.

hindi ba’t ganuon nga ang nangyari? .. when He said it is finished and breathed His last, di ba lumindol, dumilim, nahati ang kurtina sa templo at ang lahat ng naniwala dahil sa nangyari were drawn to Him? .. but how can this be said for those who were hard of heart that did not believe? .. can you say that they were likewise drawn to Him? .. i don’t think so .. not everyone in hades were brought to paradise but only those that were “drawn” to Him .. to me, drawn to Him means put their faith in Him .. and this is also true for those who were not at the scene and to be born later on .. can you honestly say that those who raise their fists against God are drawn to God? .. come on, common sense ..

Tamang-tama ka peklat. Ang relihiyon ay poison. Pwede rin namang magstudy at matoto ng mga bagay na spiritual outside of religious biases and traditions. So you can defend yourself from religious people who will condemn you to eternal torment by their Loving and unfailing God if you don’t agree with them.

Noynoy has taken an undue advatage by the the Time Cover. Whether he deserves it or not is the question. I haven’t read it pa. But still I am undecided who to really vote for, Peklat.

As far as good governance is concerned, there are two essential elements: –first is capacity, talent, intelligence

–second is HONESTY, GOOD WILL and DEDICATION

now, the 9 presidentiables for 2010 elections possess these elements BUT< in varying degrees. To sum it all up, I might use 3 of whom I think (according to my own perspective) are the strongest contenders but in no specific order.

First is Manny Villar (I express my apologies to all Villar supporters but I nicknamed him "Money Dollar" in my rage due to his vast ignorance) — I dare say he has NONE of these two very important elements. His dedication and honesty and intentions are very questionable. Pardon me for saying this, I'm not judging him. It's just that all the facts are pointing out to such an allegation. Manny Villar, as we all know, is engaged in real estate. And imagine how easy it is for him to take advantage of the highest seat in RP to exercise his powers TO HIS OWN ADVANTAGE. Imagine what will then happen to all of his rivals in the real estate business. He can actually really use such authority to make his business flourish through "DISCREETLY INNOVATIVE" means — if you know what I mean. And if ever you know anyone engaged in this field of business, try to ask him about his point of view regarding Villar running as president. I am certain they will affirm what I'm saying.

Second is intellectual and practical and realistic and true platforms which is very essential in determining a worthy leader for our country. He says "Kung nakaya kong paangatin ang katayuan ko sa buhay, magagawa ko rin sa inyo" ..I mean, c'mOn!! ganun lng b yn? just because you were able to make urself prosper, does it mean it is just as easy to make about NINETY MILLION PEOPLE prosper as well during a six-year term? Panu daw un? ..Mliban nlang kung bbgyan nya tayo 10M isa-isa. Salamat anoh. Eh sa Makati nga, the district as we all know is economically stable pero may naghihirap prin. Hindi naman ganun kadaling burahin 'yan.Eh sa buong Pilipinas pa kaya? Eh nung panahon nga ni Macapagal 2nd tau sa Japan sa buong Asya may mahirap prn. and not to mention the question regarding HOW he has amassed his fortunes. He is engaged in some scandalous issues, after all. Like the c5 controversy, to say the least.

  197. April 20, 2010 at 5:08 pm

Medyo napahaba tayo ‘don anoh. Ahem .. to continue . . . .

second is Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro — “Galing at Talino” — such a great title. It greatly boosts his morale, don’t you think? And well, his achievements in the academic world has given proof to such claim. And have you heard him speak during several presidential forums? Very sensible. Very eloquent. Very plausible. And so there is no question to that. Magaling nga naman. Matalino nga naman. So in terms of capacity, the first of the two elements I have mentioned, he is top-notch in my list. But does this assure us of good governance?

The questionable part of Teodoro’s candidacy is the issue regarding where his loyalty stands? To the people? Or to any ONE person? Regardless of whether that person be himself or any other “Big Man”(the term being applicable to both male and female) i mean, he has always been part of the administration. Has he ever opposed even one of the devious deeds of (I think most would agree to this) our CORRUPT and SELF-PROVIDING government?

Just because the man is undoubtedly “magaling at matalino” does not mean his loyalty and determination rests on the desire to promote the betterment of the people. I mean, Marcos was very intelligent. So is PGMA.The question is how they used such gift if “intelligence” and wit and eloquence. As an instrument towards progress? or a a shroud to cover up their special and selfish intents? Will it be a government OF the people, FOR the people and BY the people? or a government OFF with the people, to FOOL the people, and to BUY the people?

  198. April 20, 2010 at 5:47 pm

And this one wnt be too kilometric ..^_^ ..

to conclude, ONLY Benigno Simeon Cojuanco Aquino Jr. has BOTH elements.

His HONESTY is unquestionable — as even his critics complement him with this virtue. It’s one of his best assets.
And with that comes the sincere dedication to render GENUINE SERVICE to the Filipino People.

The other one is a bit more confidential. Maybe since his “critics” can find no other means to throw mud at him. It’s pretty smart really — to use one of Noynoy’s advantages against him. I’m talking about his family background, of course. I mean, the fact that his parents have had significant contributions to Philippine history should be his advantage right? But the “anti-Noynoys” have somehow devised an ingenious way to turn things around. Well, you get the idea, right?

And another thing, the “autistic” “talentless” and etc. — these adjectives have been used against him for very obvious reasons. Quite harsh dnt u think? ..I mean, if you try to read his stand regarding several issues found in this site, you will notice that he has come up with meaningful, feasible and practical solutions to some problems that our country is facing as of the moment. So the insults and allegations against him have absolutely no truth whatsoever ..

    God Bless you all ..

Personality is not a matter of being kind enough that you are spineless, that’s the way I see Noynoy, spineless as he is, he needs a mind of his own and be independent from the families of the Aquinos-Cojuancos. I like a leader with that knows how to give a compliment when it sees one, knows how to scrutinize more and improve. I don’t want a president with a grudge to ruin this country.

IF YOU CAN GIVE REASONS WHY NOY-NOY AQUINO ISN’T DESRVING TO BE THE PHILIPPINES’ NEXT PRESIDENT FOR THE NEXT SIX WHOLE YEARS, I CAN GIVE A MILLION OTHER REASONS WHY THE OTHER PRESIDENTIABLE CANDIDATES ARE SURE AS HELL AREN’T DESERVING AS WELL.

In fairness to Noynoy. He knows what he’s doing, but he just wants himself to appear as if he doesn’t. That’s what I hate about him. There’s something in his promises, in his smile and looks that tell me the Philippines will be one huge Hacienda Luicita when he wins this election. People tend to not see through him, and just be captivated with how he composes himself. Guys, this person has not passed a single law, not one. What he’s done so far is just bask in the glory of his parents. People have tendencies and bad habits, and Noynoy clearly has the bad habit of using his parents’ names to his own advantage. If not him being a son of Ninoy, he would not even be a Senator let alone any public office. He knows what he’s doing. He clearly does, and he has a high probability of winning this election. He knows how to win this election, but I doubt it he knows what to do if he does win. I’m just thinking, not condemning.
