Dick Gordon and Jamby should act heroic by withdrawing from presidential race and campaign for GIBO if they don’t want that this country will fall in the hands of irresponsible leader like Noynoy or Villar, so with Binay.
How much more kung maging vice president yan….

bakit ndi c Gibo ang mg’withdraw and let Gordon who’s more competent than him continue to run as president.

December 2, 2009 at 3:50 pm

Why is it that the less popular people in this race (except Jamby, God save us) are often better than the popular people? Gordon is the most well rounded presidentiable by far. With Fernando, that makes them a more respectable pair than what the GMA administration offered. (Honestly, is Edu Manzano there because people thought he was a great leader or because Mr. Manzano happens to be an experienced advertiser of kitchen products?) I am happy the two are running as independents. Based on previous interviews, the two are not afraid to put charges on GMA if necessary despite being former administration men.

Gordon is a newbie for president. As president to be, he has no track record to his name. As senator, publicity claimed he has the maxiumum contributions to his credit. Whatever it is, whether true or not, is not the point. The point is, if you chose a newbie, your certainty percentage ratio that he’ll perform and succeed is 50/50. All things presumed equal, would you ride on a motor, a jeep, a bus, a boat, or even a plane which is driven or piloted by a first timer? If your senses are right, it will be an overwhelming NO! No one in his right mind will put his life to risk!

December 13, 2009 at 1:59 pm

clearly romy has no idea who gordon is. newbie? he has the longest track record and one of success compared to ALL other candidates. 1971 constitutional convention delegate, emphasized that the bill of rights also should be accompanied by a bill of responsibilities. olongapo mayor, cleaned up what used to be sin city, color coded jeeps, to help enforce crime and rationalize a crazy public transport system. subic chairman, brought in billions of dollars in investment, from fedex to dell. tourism secretary, actually increased tourism arrivals even when everyone else in the region was down because of 9/11, bali bombing, SARS, etc. then in the senate, as a freshman senator he has authored history making legislation, such as the automated elections law, to break the stranglehold of cheaters in our elections. so, romy56, maybe do your research first.

December 17, 2009 at 1:15 am

I have a good idea of who gordon is… he is one hell of a fake… i hail from olongapo-zambales area… and mind you he did not brought in fedex… he just happens to be the sbma chair when they came in… and to tell you frankly… fedex people dont like gordon… masyado syang ma-papael… he is good alright… good in using the media among others to promote himself… sa totoo lang, kung sbma rin lang pag-uusapan, di mas hamak na mas naging maunlad ang sbma with payumo… And so to gordon… tama na pa-pogi

• imre
December 17, 2009 at 8:17 pm

ay oo… si payumo… nung time ni payumo nag-alisan investors sa sbma e… nung time din na yon natakot ang mga expats dahil ang daming magnanakaw sa loob ng sbma… noon ding time na yun pumangit ang sbma… sarap puntahan dati nung time ni gordon pero kay payumo… sarap di puntahan….

basta ang alam ko… marumi ang politiko… pero kung may isang lider na pwedeng magpagalaw sa mga pilipino… si gordon yun… newbie man sya o hindi sa paningin mo. sana manalo si gordon. the philippines deserves a good leader like him.

fake? ah, baka empleyado ka dati ng SBMA na pinatalsik ni Dick dahil kung di man tamad ay wala namang pakinabang. oops, naupo pla si Payumo as Chair? di ko siya naramdaman eh. don’t tell me ur from bataan, and don’t forget na maraming taga-Bataan ang nagkatrabaho sa SBMA when Dick took over the freeport zone.

romy56,where are you from?you never heard of what gordon did for olongapo (not just when pinatubo erupted)and subic when the americans left?you should read more or go around the country specially olongapo then maybe you will be a better pinoy.i live in capiz but i don’t believe in mar roxas. compared to gordon all of them are neophytes and i am willing to bet my life on GORDON!OMG only erap is not a newbie candidate here being a former president.

• ann
December 14, 2009 at 7:32 pm

I don’t know how one call call Sen. Gordon a newbie. He has years and years of proven good governance as mayor to his name, he also turned the former american naval base in subic into a very succesful freeport when the americans abandoned it. he also shone as tourism secretary, the country recording the highest influx of tourists despite the kidnappings, SARS and other challenges that faced the country that time. If these cannot be counted as qualities that should be considered in choosing the next president, there must really be something wrong in our country which is why we remain the sick man of asia. I thought there is a constitutional bar against former presidents running for re-election? How can one look for a candidate who has an experience of being president?

• LORELA
December 14, 2009 at 2:06 am

ROMY! you need help!
Mr. Richard Gordon is NOT a newbie, EXCUSE ME. He has done many many thngs not even all the past presidents can do. You have access to internet, use it to your advantage, learn to research and educate yourself well. It will help you a lot with your judgements.

We all need to learn from our past experience “masyado tayong maki-artista!” sana ngayon ay “magpaka edukado tayo” pumili ng magiging presidente ng ating BANSANG MAHAL.

ngayon pa may pag asa na
may matinong kandidato
pwera pa cute (cute na kasi)
Gordon and Bayani
Tamang tama
Go go go GORDON!
Go go go BAYANI!

But if man does not enact the changes, and is not inspired or are forced to do so, that will of God will not happen.

Gordon has been known for so many times to mobilize people not because of intimidation nor order, but by inspiration and volunteerism. I don’t see how Eddie is any better than Gordon.

March 3, 2010 at 2:54 am

the meaning of that comment, cypher, is that my friends from gapo has negative things to say about gordon .. one of them is an AG pastor and because he is a pastor and knowing him for quite some time, i don’t think he will be fabricating something to destroy the credibility of mr. gordon .. and i also do not think that he was motivated to say that because he is rooting for another candidate especially that of brother eddie .. the reason i say so is because he usually responds when i communicate with him but when i encouraged him about brother eddie’s candidacy, i received no reply ..

March 3, 2010 at 3:09 am

Sounds like someone who sympathizes with Shay Cullen. It’s too easy to say bad things about Gordon especially with how he wants people to be productive, and not be lazy.

Soothing words from Eddie will never be enough. His charisma isn’t enough. Hell his type of governance isn’t tested!

Gordon is tried and tested, and you saw how he runs things even outside Olongapo. With that, the Olongapo excuse is sent out the window; you can’t say he has bad skills if he handled many positions and excelled in each and every one of them.

All Eddie supporters I’ve seen so far only has blind faith. Faith these days aren’t enough.

We have to be objective.

We need a person who will motivate and drive us to the top… not someone who will make us live up with the promises.

March 20, 2010 at 2:59 pm

We have a separation from religion at Government. marami nmn mabait na president ah, may nangyari ba sa Pilipinas? Kya hnd ginagamit ang salita ng Diyos sa mga Debate, kc iba ung topic na un, sa debate we only present the facts, some moral values, but we don’t debate about religion, dhil hnd iisa ang relihiyon, marami, we have different opinions about the bible. so we can’t use it in Governance.

Well.. Many impoverish have deep faith in God.. but did they become rich? If Charice Pempengco wasn’t good at singing do you think.. God will make her that rich and famous? Same with Manny Pacquiao and other personalities.. You are deluded to think that God is solely responsible.. It takes ABILITY, CAPABILITY, & KNOWLEDGE to make things… DICK GORDON CAN DO IT!

What difference does it make? It’s been clear in the constitution that there should be a separation between church and state, between god and country. Do you even know the implications of that? Do you even know what will happen if you put traditional religious beliefs as the fore front of the Philippine constitution? Not only is it going to be messy, it would be so uptight that the Laws like the Reproductive Health Bill would be impeded further just because of religion impeding the decision making ability of the chief executive.

With his credentials versus Gordon? Sorry, but that’s simply not happening. Just because he’s got Divine blessings doesn’t mean he can translate all that into results that is needed for the country to prosper. Gordon on the other hand, already proved what he can do.

The shoul motivate the people to work hard. Tulong tulong tayong iahon ang ating bayan. Oo, tama din c Gordon, “What this country need is not a change of men but a change in men”. Wag taung maging BOBO! GUMISING KAYO MGA KABABAYAN KO!

kung gusto mo si Noynoy, look at Hacienda Luisita at ang track record niya, kung meron man. if si Gibo, look at his record (aside from being the, ahem, topnotcher ng bar exam during his time)sa Nat’l Defense kala ko ba sabi niya sa infomercial niya dapat laging handa, ayun, mukhang ground zero ang NCR plus sabi niya malinis ang dep’t niya nung inappoint siya, eh panu napunta yung mga dekalibreng armories sa mga Ampatuan? oh baka naman si Villar, na saksakan ng TRAPO. kung wala rw 1 billion ang kandidato, wag ng tumakbo, eh ang nasa batas below 500 million lang ang pwedeng gastusin ng presidentiable, san nya kukunin yung gagastusin nyang pera, sa nat’l budget? baka naman ang iboboto mo si Erap. Hey, sabi ni Dick Gordon, KUNG BAWAL ANG TAMAD SA PILIPINAS HIGIT NA BAWAL AND TANGA! Now tell me, sinong walang track record at political will?

romy56 :
Gordon is a newbie for president. As president to be, he has no track record to his name. As senator, publicity claimed he has the maxiumum contributions to his credit. Whatever it is, whether true or not, is not the point. The point is, if you chose a newbie, your certainty percentage ratio that he’ll perform and succeed is 50/50. All things presumed equal, would you ride on a motor, a jeep, a bus, a boat, or even a plane which is driven or piloted by a first timer? If your senses are right, it will be an overwhelming NO! No one in his right mind will put his life to risk!

And who are those not a newbie? Marcos? madam Arroyo (9 yeras)? he. he. you’re getting misled po. Maybe Erap has given a 2nd chance kasi di niya natapos termino? Or purely an administrations tactic para mahati ang mga botante against sa kanilang kandidato? Each President given a chance of 1 term only po, that’s why may nagpipilit ng chacha at nang di umubra congresswoman na lang po.

You are blind sir ,Gordon is not a newbie.Kindly look at Olongapo’s history before saying anything.

This explains why the Philippines will fall behind every country in southeast Asia (the whole Asia if there are more people like him). The truth hurts but 90% of the Filipinos will vote(without thinking) for someone who is popular.

“Gordon is a newbie for president.” – Are you even old enough to vote? With how you’re saying things, you seem as ignorant as a child. Give me a presidential “non-newbie” candidate. For your information sir, there will never be a non-novice president, because you only get to be president for one term.. unlike the US or other countries perhaps, or the case of Arroyo and Marcos. Now tell me? What exactly do you mean by “newbie for president”. Go back to school.

But unfortunately people might not vote for him because they do not know how much he has done for our country. The people are blinded by his adversaries’ celebrity influences and family fame. Kabayan, if you care for the Phili…ppines and its future, now is the time to grab the oppurtunity to have a genuinely renewed and uplifted country… Allow him to lead our suffering country to greatness that we used to have a long time ago. May pag-asa pa, babangon ang Pilipinas!

Gordon have been my bet for president even before he announced his presidential bid. I believe in him and his ideals.

12. December 13, 2009 at 1:44 am

I believed in what Senator Richard Gordon can do to our country. I lived abroad and pity i could not vote. But I know with the helped of people who support him for so many years can do a lot more this time that he needs most of thier love and support not only for Gordon himself but together they all worked for the good of our Country and our People, because Gordon knows that the best job was done by others who helped most and honest to him,for he cannot do everything alone without the helped of others.Wow Philippines got really popular although a lot of places still need to discover and the most that you can see how Pilipino worked together in helping each other for the good of others…Philippine National Red Cross, how active they are you can see that mostly Pilipino’s had good heart in helping people in need. That is what i admire most, to all of them. A good team worked is always needed and they all worked hard together and you can see that it’s the most active humanitarian organization in Philippines who cares for everybody in any kind of situation. His getting popular abroad and he is a type of who works hard for the good of our country and our people and he is always proud of Pilipino that he knows a lot of intelligent Pilipino’s everywhere I think if this man becomes a President for all the Pilipino’s abroad, someone we can trust and maybe the first time in History that theres someone really who understand the word Pinoy, he had a lot of experienced that we all Pilipino’s even we had different languages and mentallities we all lived in one Country, and every place had its own beauty to treasure. In good times and hard times we sticked together and helped each other. Aim High Philippines and Aim High Pilipino’s.Since when i was young i like Gordon to becomes a President of the Philippines for they were really good and i can say lot of childrens later on can go to School and lots of streetchildrens who asked and badly need for helped and wanted to lived a better life even you cannot helped all i think its thier dreams to see a better future and to our Military men.Especially to those who is loyal to our country and to our people, and to the sick people that who needs helped.. i remember when i was young without those American’s who visit us to School to give us a free vaccination, perhaps if not them until now we never had it. They always think what people need to have and what is good for them…and he is the only one who goes around Philippines and proud of each people and each culture, i can say his showing a lot of important things what we Pilipino’s need to be proud of for we are lucky to have this 7,ooo islands we could not always think of having a support abroad while we need a lot of tourist who can visit our country.I love the American Base for i hate factories…And we are sure that the money we got is clean, military people spend thier money and they had ships, planes, submarines to bring our Philippine Handicraft and Furnitures back home..where we can export and import our products.Everywhere you can see a lot of people worked because theres so many nice things to show the works or skills in handwork. Now perhaps you can see all big stores but most of what they sell are not even comes from us.People knew Richard Gordon that he need not to show good thing because of the coming election but we know that he wants to go more….to achieved all what is necessarily for the Pilipino people to have and that is thier rights.

If you have seen “Isang Tanong” of GMA & “Harapan” of ABS CBN, maliwanag pa sa sikat ng araw na walang clear vision si Noynoy sa ating bansa. He will be worst leader than president Cory. Are you really satisfied to their performance kaya sila ang napipili nyong maging president ng ating naghihingalong bansa? They are surrounded with traditional, power-starved politians, who are just trying to connect themselves with their popularity. Choose the one who can at least give a total change to the face of Philippine Politics.

Many impoverish have deep faith in God.. but did they become rich? If Charice Pempengco wasn’t good at singing do you think.. God will make her that rich and famous? Same with Manny Pacquiao and other personalities.. You are deluded to think that God is solely responsible.. It takes ABILITY, CAPABILITY, & KNOWLEDGE to make things… DICK GORDON CAN DO IT!”… Separate God from politics! commandment no. 2 states that “Thou shall not use the Lord you’re God in vain”.. pwede naman sya magsalita ng hindi ibinabalandra nya yung pangalan ng Diyos sa publiko.. Hindi po praise and worship ang pulitika.. if he keeps mentioning God to every question asked.. then what would the non-christian feel? Would they follow?

it is time for us to make the right decision.

“YOU have to admire a man who can get his story across. In recent weeks, Richard Gordon, the former mayor of Olongapo in the Philippines, hardly the world’s most famous conurbation, has come close to achieving global fame. His exploits have been hymned in international periodicals such as the Financial Times and Business Week. He is the talk of investment bankers across South-East Asia. He is honoured at home, too, for the profits he has made for his own country. ” the rest of the story can be found on this link:
Give gordon and Bayani tandem a chance. Gordon for President!

Can God give you a job? Don’t be delusional. Change happens on the will of the people. Miracles happen because of God, if you think God is the change that we need then consider the Philippines already at the end of its ropes because out of all the interventions that we have, a divine intervention means that we had done something so bad, that it’s beyond repair. Don’t be a pessimist, don’t be a person with the “Bahala na” attitude like Brother Eddie is, don’t use God as an excuse to run for POLITICS. It’s disgusting.

Hi Janet, I don’t know much about your Bro. Eddie so I went and read your blogs for him. After reading the blogs, I am still not convinced that he will be the best president for the country specilly as I don’t know what he has done for the common Filipino (NOT JUST THE MEMBERS OF YOUR RELIGIOUS GROUP). To enlignten me, can you give me at least 5 good deeds has done to alleviate the lives of the Filipino people (again not just the members of your religious group). You see, I am supporting Gordon based on the acchievements, actions and improvements he has contributed to the country that has improve so many lives. I give you this opportunity to change my mind.

to zai, re brother eddie .. i do not know if it would be inspiring for you to know that at the aftermath of typhoon ondoy, jil cancelled their anniversary celebration and in so doing used the funds intended for the celebration, together with the monies collected from around the globe, to help the victims of that calamity .. include also the fact that pastors and workers of jil worldwide, who were supposed to attend the anniversary, worked side by side with their philippine counterparts in helping these victims .. wala nga lang media mileage ..

Gordon with Red Cross does that consistently and doesn’t need to cancel things to deliver services. Even not in Ondoy, but in practically any disaster, Gordon and the Red Cross were there.

It just doesn’t compare.

dapat lang gawin ng PNRC iyon because it is in their charter, including the receiving and dispensing of the monies and the like donated to it .. ang ibig kong sabihin, normal nilang trabaho iyon .. dapat lang .. dahil sa media coverage, alam ni kaliwa ang ginagawa ni kanan .. ‘1″Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2″So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”‘ ..

But isn’t it that it’s also the duty of the church to help the needy kaya pwede ko ring sabihin na ‘dapat lang gawin ng JIL iyon dahil ito ang turo ng Diyos..’ what difference does it make if Bro. Eddie is the president or a leader in JIL? And to say, isa lang ang binigay mo sa five na hinihingi ni Zai.. Yea, you can help, even I as simple student.. I volunteered for Ondoy.. It is not just cash donations or relief goods ya know.? You also need leadership to exercise order amidst the calamity…

What? Of course it’s our duty to go into disaster zones and help the needy, we’re VOLUNTEERS. It means we are WILLING to do those things, we are going to get our brethren alive. It’s our job, our duty, our privilege as a member of the Red Cross, we do it EVERY YEAR. You think Brother Eddie would be willing to risk his life just to save hostages of the Abu Sayaf who are also members of the Red Cross? Gordon risked his life for these people since they are part of our organization. Get your facts straight, Eddie stating he canceled his anniversary is a BIGGER hypocrite. While Gordon and our team has been toiling through mud and soil from landslides, flash floods and rain showers to save people without ANY extensive return. You make me sick, you insult even the organization of the PNRC as a whole with your statement.

Kaya ako, Bro eddie noon, ngayon at kahit kailan pa!
To God be the glory!

1. Hmm, activist != hero. Gordon got opressed by Erap for simply enforcing no-littering.
2. Easily negated by the fact Gordon gave jobs to hundred thousands more, and these were stable.
3 and 4 are overshadowed by Gordon’s tenure as PNRC Chairman.
5. Gordon would’ve prevented this in the first place, and with the transformation of the people.
6. Gordon prevented this kind of event from happening in his turf in Olongapo. No need for rallies, no need for protests.

Eddie Villanueva is good, and his vision is also good, but Gordon is “been there, done that”, and has actually solved problems. There is no time to experiment in this country, what’s needed is real performers with proven track records.

And it takes more than religion and faith to make changes.

Subok na, why will we still look for others? King, so you’re from Olongapo. So was I! I hope you don’t belong to the rival political clan of the Gordon’s or their supporter! You cannot please everybody! If still some are not satisfied in Olongapo, I will dare tell you–they only consist of small numbers just like those who are not satisfied to what has Lee Kuan Yew done to Singapore–there are still few who, same with Gordon, are not satisfied! But if you compare it to other countries or cities–Singapore and Olongapo City stand out! You would only realize the greatness of something when it is gone! In his long public service, only trivial and non-sense accusations you can use to mudsling him? No way! That only proves how really good Senator Gordon was! His track record was never tainted! Hopefully someday he can show that too in helping our country achieve its goals!

Wala man lang kayong malinaw na analysis kung papa-ano at bakit naghihirap ang Pilipno even after celebrating more than a HUNDRED YEARS ( sabihin na nating 63 years ang actual)of INDEPENDENCE ! I believe in the man RICHARD ‘DicK’ GORDON. SUBSTANTIATE IT WITH A MASTER PLAN. Let me know, what help do you need from me. Let us change for the better with CLEAR VISION and

Gordon is a fake… i hail from olongapo-zambales area. Magaling lang gumamit ng media yan… puro pasikat… puro drawing… the people of olongapo and zambales knows that… umunlad ng husto ang SBMA when he finally left it… and by the way mr.dick gordon… thanks for using the people of payatas for your violent rallies at SBMA… hindi gagawain ng mga taga-gapo ang mga ginawa ng mga nag-rally para sa yo

King, you’re funny. umunlad ng husto ang SBMA when Gordon finally left it? WOW! kindly give us concrete data on this… and you’re saying magaling lang sya gumamit ng media?? are you sure? do you know what you’re talking about? coz if that is true, then why would we be having a hard time letting the people know NOW of all the things he’s accomplished all this time?? sobrang dami nyang nagawa, walang masyadong nakakaalam kasi nga hindi sya mahilig sa publicity.. trabaho lng for the benefit of the country… you think if he was really always papogi, mahihirapan kaya his supporters to campaign for him? eh di nga sya in favor of making his image pang media eh because he doesn’t believe that the filipino voters will fall for that crap. mataas ang tiwala nya sa talino at galing ng bawat pilipino. na makakapili tyo ng tamang presidente na nararapat at karapat-dapat. he has confidence that we are intelligent and responsible enough to vote for the best for own good. so.. for love of country, we should go for GORDON-BAYANI in 2010. =)

Dahil as far as I know, walang nagpaasenso ng Olongapo kundi si Gordon!

You have a problem here, because Gordon also has the exact same thing.

Integrity: Getting a town to shape up requires this.
Truth: He himself is truthful, maybe frank, but he never minces words.
Uncompromising: Progress requires a great deal of uncompromising traits. All he wants to do is to bring progress to people. How do you think he got people jobs in SBMA numbering by the hundred-thousands?
Humble: Plenty of Gordon’s achievements and successes are unsung too. In fact, too unsung that both our candidates lag behind.

Gordon is needed too, with a stubborn nation like this, prayers will have a hard time penetrating the people. It doesn’t take prayers alone to change the nation, something needs to be done as well on the part on who will lead.

i disagree with your last paragraph, O_O, everything was created by God for His own pleasure and nothing is hidden from Him .. prayer is important to gain the favor of the one true God .. God wants man (who was created in His own image) to communicate with Him .. and for the action part, that is the very reason brother eddie is running for president .. to apply the godly principles that he has learned from the Word of God, translation = “GOOD GOVERNANCE” .. a righteous governance that knows no fear except for the fear of God .. sobra ng nakakaawa ang kalagayan ng ating bayan .. kailangan natin ng isang pinuno na matuwid at may tibay ng dibdib at tapang upang sagupain ang puwersa ng kadiliman na patuloy na nagpapahirap sa nakararami nating mga kababayan .. isang pinuno na hindi nasusuhulan, walang takot malagay sa panganib ang sariling buhay .. pinaulanan ng bala, hinagisan ng granada pero hanggang ngayon buhay pa .. baka nga ngayon na ang panahon para gawin ng Dios ang Kanyang magandang plano para sa bayan natin .. mag quote lang ako ng Salita ng Dios, ha? .. sana huwag ninyong masamain .. “f my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” at saka “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” .. huwag nating tawaran ang kapangyarihan ng Dios ..

Hindi po kmi nandito para magpa preach. we don’t need a pastor, we need a leader. hnd ko nanaman sinasabi na hnd magaling si Eddie pro iba ang simbahan, kaya hnd namin masasagot yan kc magkakasala kmi pag kinalaban namin ang Diyos, I am a christian myself, but the Bible is not made for politics, it is for spiritual and moral means. Hindi ginagamit and mga salita ng Diyos sa isang debate dahil we all have different interpretations of it. nakakita kna ba ng debate sa house of representatives na ginagamit ang salita ng Diyos? no, dahil not all people are Christians, Catholics, or believers.

I’m going for Gordon.

I beg to differ.

Since when was this a pre-requisite for presidency? What if a leader is non-catholic/non-christian or is an atheist? You don’t have to be God-fearing to be good to the nation, esp if your religion differs.

Or principles. One does not need this to sound sweet, especially if one does his job well and produces results.

And those who has wisdom but aren’t from a religious body comes from a netherworldy source? No one is buying that. Wisdom doesn’t exclusively come from God alone.

Do you know what happened to the country when the church led the state? The separation of church and state is there for a reason. If you’re gonna campaign for him for his godliness notwithstanding the fact he’s JIL leader for a political position, that’s a paradox worthy of hilarity and ridicule.

Do you know what happened when the spanish were here, 300 years ago? They used God as a tool to dupe the Filipinos and do you know who benefited the most from it? The ‘holy’ friars that so sweetly uttered words about God. Imagine this on Eddie Villanueva, who created his own religion and only administered his own school. You think PRAYING does it? You think protecting the integrity of the OFW’s would be enough to rally our country to prosperity? We need investors, we need jobs, we need improvement.

January 15, 2010 at 5:19 am

to O_O, Wisdom doesn’t exclusively come from God alone.unquote .. unfortunately for you O_O, the only source of wisdom is God alone, and i quote, “1 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, 2 turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, 3 and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, 4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, 5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, 8 for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. 9 Then you will understand what is right and just and fair — every good path. 10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. 11 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.” ..

for the so many people who doesn’t know, dick gordon’s leadership is very admirable. -leading his people to the impossible (which he made possible) in transforming the former US Naval Base to a world class freeport zone.
-in 1990 Earthquake, he led the US and Olongapo rescue team in Cabanatuan City and Baguio City to help the people, remember the grade 4 student (female) who was stucked between the concretes of the 2nd and third floor of the school? remember HYATT?
– a year after… Remember Mount Pinatubo? Olongapo was devastated but he still managed to help his neighboring provinces who doesn’t know what to do and where to start.
-a year after, remember when the 12 senators decided not to renew the treaty between the US bases? i’m not pro bases but it is the lives of those who are working there who was really affected touched me the most… many stopped schooling because of unemployment, many hungered.
-remember Ormoc, dick was there to help FIRST HAND!
-remember Pagoda tragedy in Bulacan? Dick was there again to help!
-Abu Sayaf kidnap victims? Dick was there again to negotiate and managed to retrieve some hostages.
-Remember leyte? St. Bernard? Dick is there!
he is a world class leader with full of heart and compassion to his country and men.. it is my personal opinion, si dick, ready na sya, twelve years ago, marami lang talagang artistang kandidato, sana nga nag-artista muna sya baka noon pa sya presidente, sayang ang galing dahil sa maling pulitika, nawawalan ng tsansa ang mga taong makapag-bibigay ng kanilang best share to make the philippines a better country, sa lahat naman ng binoboto natin, we always GAMBLE! bakit hindi natin sugalan si DICK, sayang eh, ponder please… mabuhay po ang PILIPINAS, naniniwala ako na may pag-asa pa.

Si Gibo naman nagsabing itutuloy nya lang ang mga programa ni GMA – excuse me, he is DND Secretary but the Maguindanao massacre happens under his nose and they dig up hundreds of high-powered ammo in boxes labelled with “DND” – so aside from letting that big disaster pass under his nose, ano na RIN ba nagawa nya.

Noynoy and Gibo ang naglalaban, nakaka tawa naman. They are both ALL talk. No more talking pls, talk is cheap!

Richard Gordon! Youngest con-con delegate, Mayor of Olongapo, Subic messiah, Red Cross volunteer for 40 years, former Secretary of Tourism, Senator with over 100 bills in the senate which includes the holiday economics bill, poll automation bill, tourism bill, etc…. Lees verder

Corrupt ba sya? And Sen. Gordon up to now lives in his old house in Olongapo and rents a condo in Metro Manila which he shares with his wife and grown kids! Rides a simple car, a toyota. His current lifestyle is a testament to his good governance.

Goal ng Gordon-Bayani Team is “first world” status for the Philippines! Leaders take you where you want to be – BUT “GREAT LEADERS” take you where you’ve never been.. where you don’t want to – but ought to be! Let’s go, go Philippines! Go, go GORDON!

we need a leader that has a vision. someone who will bring us to a place we’ve never been. his leadership is something that the filipinos have never seen before. he is someone who is motivated with passion and love for his country and countrymen. this should be the main basis in making a decision on voting a president. not the popularity, not the family name, not by how rich they are. but by proven achievements and solid track record. filipinos are generally intelligent folks. im proud i am filipino! filipinos should see that he is the most qualified to be the next president who will transform our beloved country to a great and powerful nation that we used to be a long time ago. Pilipinas, magtulong tulong tayo. So, if I decided for Gordon after looking at what everyone else has to offer as president, I’m closed-minded and steel-hearted? What if I told you that upon my reviews for the presidency, Eddie and Noynoy are greenhorns, Erap is a big fat joke, Gibo is a Gordon and BF wannabe who just began emulating them as of recent, Villar having questionable priorities, and Jamby is a self-serving and self-gratifying candidate?

Practice what you preach.

I’m not saying that Gordon is not a good bet for a president, infact, he is a very good speaker. But still, I will not vote for him. He used the PNRC too much for his publicity. And even bending the principles of the organization.

Speculations, speculations. Other candidates pale in comparison to him, especially when it comes to implementations, not promises.

You want someone who doesn’t “bend principles and use publicity” but is an inutile? You tell me.

i must have been mistaken to imply my sentences. the i don’t know for sure – is really meant, i don’t know for sure who to vote… By the way Gordon had been a volunteer for the PNRC since fetus, because his mother was a volunteer too… that’s according to him, when i attended one of his speaking engagements.

Gud morning, Mr. Richard Gordon…I am a 3rd year nursing student from tacloban city, leyte. In one of our subjects, we are asked to ask certain questions to the 2010 presidentiables. Since you’re one of them, I would just like to ask you a few questions. I hope it’s all right with you, sir. And as a citizen of this country and as a registered voter, I am also interested to know what you plan to do. The questions are as follows: If youi would win the 2010 presidential elections, what are your plans that would help in the progress of our country? If and only if you would not win, what are your plans? I am hoping that you would find time to answer these questions, sir. It would be of great help to me and to my studies. You may email your answer to Thank you so much and God bless..

Sincerely yours,
Louella Anne

• January 5, 2010 at 9:35 am

louella anne – i am not sure if the presidentiables themselves read this blog. perhaps their staff or their PR agency does but even that is not certain. having said that, you have very little chance at getting a direct answer from them on your questions.

i suggest you go to their websites and post these questions there. but even doing that might not get you what you need.

i think your professor has given you an impossible assignment to fulfill. the assignment is too unrealistic to get results for, specially on the part of getting a direct answer from them and the number 2 question.

for the number 1 question – you can extract an answer for it by reading their platforms of government. some are available in this blog. if its not available here, go to their websites or read press releases and news articles.

good luck .

Ako, Gordon at Bayani.

If Noynoy was not born Aquino, would you vote for him according to his performance in the senate?

If Villar was not so rich and couldn’t afford to pay billions of pesos for his infomercials, would you vote for him according to his record of accounts?

If Gibo was not a bar exams top-notcher would you vote for him according to his performance as a National Defense secretary?

If Erap was not an ousted president/actor, would you vote for him according to his credibility?

If Eddie V was not a religious leader, would you vote for him according to his executive experience… if there was?

If Gordon was not unpopular, would you vote for him according to his achievements as mayor of Olongapo, chairman of SBMA, chairman of PNRC, secretary of tourism department, and chairman of the blue ribbon senate committee?

For people who are doing their presidential research:

From this site, you can read an extensive review of Senator Gordon’s achievements and track record. Once you’re done reading it, compare it with gibo’s, noynoy’s, villar’s and the rest of the presidential candidates’ accomplishments. Be the judge on who is the most qualified and capable to be the next president who will lead our suffering country to the greatness that we used to have a long time ago.

This is not being biased nor being carried away by emotions. This is not being influenced by fame nor being blinded by money. This is a documented record of years and years of genuine and sincere public service and love for his country and countrymen. Proven Records. Positive Change. Good Leadership. Unblemished Integrity. This is why we should elect Richard Gordon and not the other candidates who are mere sweet-talkers but have not delivered results that truly made a difference in our society.

God bless the Philippines!

comparing export processing zone in our country, sbma, rosario, canlubang, cebu, sta.rosa, carmona and other EPZ.Subic has the least capital expenditures comparing to others. No expenditures for land preparation(land levelling, backfilling),no expense on roads(survey, planning, compaction and construction),no expense on drainage system(existing),no cost for street lighting,no cost on street traffic signal system,no expense for storage or warehouse(Cubi point the best storage area with bomb proof underground facilities),no cost for ports and wharf(it was existing),power plant is already existing and no cost on fencing around the area.Airport was already ready and operational.Practically Subic was ready for occupancy with just minor cost.Besides,no need to hire and train new employees because it was available for rehiring locally.Motivating the locals doesn’t need much effort because these people were desperate for jobs(terminated by US navy). To call their support was easy, for they don’t have any good alternatives.Comparing it to Cebu and rosario in terms of gross production and capitalization ,SBMA can’t match Cabu and rosario.Whereas Cebu and rosario have to spend from land procurement, land preparation, roads, services, power, street lights, buildings and other facilities. In overall picture ,the transformation of SBMA from a military base to export processing zone is easier compared to Cebu, rosario, carmona, sta.rosa and other processing zones.SBMA is more on reforming than building from nothing.
Among export processing zones ,SBMA achievement and accomplishment ranks on the middle. Not number one. What makes it news-signicant simply because of media mileage.
Cebu ,rosario, sta.rosa and canlubang ranks higher than SBMA in terms of gross volume production and value of good produce. And these export processing zones deserves more media coverage and recognition for these are the big producers.
What makes Gordon popular because he was in the right place at the right time but if somebody was there besides Gordon. He may done it better. But anyway,we give credit to Gordon on what he done on SBMA,but to put SBMA as a crowning achievement is not fair to Cebu, rosario, sta.rosa, carmona and other export processing zone.I give more credit to those private entrepenuers who invested hundreds of millions to create an export processing zones and make it big.I knew personally private individuals who made it big. On these I can rate Gordon as an average chairman(export processing zone)only among chairmen of other export processing zones.

• O_O

January 21, 2010 at 5:18 pm

We know.My point is to treat SBMA as a crowning achievement or exemplary accomplishment is not fair to other export processing zones which had more capital expenditures and exert more effort to reach that level of productivity and investment.I rate SBMA is an average EPZ not at the bottom neither at the top in terms of gross production over capital investment and overall production output and value.I heard that FEDEX leave subic for china.

grabe talaga ang 2010 election ngayon. grabe. sobrang dami ng mga candidates. para sa akin, para mas magiging organize ang bansa natin. we should only have 2 final candidates. the government should eliminate those excess candidates. we should only have the 2 best men to run. there should be certain requirements that would make them eligible to run.
aside from giving or announcing their platforms, it would be better if candidates will tell to the public what they have done in the past years before they run to a certain position. not promises. i hate promises. a lot of politicians made promises. but when elected, where are their promises? it was gone with the wind. hahay…….. pilipinas talaga. nagpapakita lang talaga kung gaano ka-corrupt tayo? there was once a man asked an american. he said,” why is philippines a poor country?” the foreigner answered, “because filipinoes are dishonest.” it was a very hurting statement but it is true. that is why we do not progress and still having greater and greater debt. kailan pa kaya to matatapos? kung kailan huli na ang lahat? kailan aaksyon ang mga tayo?
ang mga mamamayan naman, lagi ding sinisisi sa mga politicians ang pagiging mahirap. it isn’t any other people’s fault why we suffer. it is because of our deeds. but politicians can help. all the people need is to educate more ourselves. it doesn’t always mean that education goes to a building where there are students and teachers. we can educate ourselves without going there. there are a lot of good books that we could read. very educational. understand the real meaning of education.
people could help the government. be part of the solution instead of being part of the problem. hindi kaya ng isang tao ang problema ng isang buong bansa.

Gordon is most capable to be next RP president, Lyceum poll says

“When I look at governance I always think in terms of vision, values, volunteerism equals victory. To my mind, leaders ought to know where they are going. They have to uplift the level of values, of dignity, of behavior and performance of their people; uplift not just the standard of living, but also the standard of values; not just making them receive the hand-out, but making sure that all hands are carrying the load of the nation,” Gordon stressed.

Aanhin mo sipag, tiaga at talino,

mixing religion with politics? .. what we, some of the christians, are saying is that brother eddie’s good character was moulded by a religion that upholds God’s Word .. what is wrong with that? .. in fact, it is very good, for there is less room for him to do you harm compared with the other candidates because there is this fear of God in him that will properly guide him .. he will stand accountable to his God whose desire is for yours, and mine and everyone else’s good welfare .. not just for the chosen few but for every filipino .. and also, i don’t think that there is an atheist among the other candidates .. they have their own religion, too .. to me, brother eddie and dick gordon have the same qualifications performance-wise, credibility-wise, skillfulness-wise, honesty-wise, etc., etc., etc., but the reason i choose brother eddie over dick gordon is because i know him and there is this fear of God in him ..

All my life… I was raised in Catholic schools., the Church has concerns in society but it is not to be mixed.. Gordon draws his strength in the lord but never did he exploit his name in public… mas ok pa nga yung sinasabi niyong exploitation sa PNRC kaysa sa ginagawa ni Bro. Eddie noh.. I will Gordon because I know what I want for our country and that is to rise… and be competitive.. that will only be through my president.. DICK GORDON!..

April 9, 2010 at 11:12 pm

hmmm.. I was kinda late but lemme explain..

All my life, I was raised in Catholic Scools.. St. James and St.Paul .my alma maters..

I’ve had Rel. Ed subjects all my life.. and I’ve had experiences which proves that not all those PUBLICLY associated with Christ are saints.. even priests can be rapists, even nuns can be thieves, lectors can be sex-mad, even pilgrims may be gamblers, etc.

Now… why is mixing religion and politics is wrong?

It is stated that Jesus saves us from Socio-Political oppression.. If he saves us from this.. then why do we have to drag him with these filthy conversations.. politics maybe dirty…

2nd commandment”Thou shall not use the name of the Lord in vain” – speaks for itself

The main course, there are certain tenets that the Church follows that may limit the government to implement order. The tenets might impede progress of the society.. From time to time, the Church may interfere but it’s another complicated debate that both parties have to undergo..

TO THOSE FOR BRO. EDDIE, his God-Fearing quality is good.. but he’s not the only one..

aside from being a JIL member or what, what is it that he has that Gordon does not possess?

I felt a bit abandoned in my fight to stop an erap presidency. maraming nalinlang si erap even among my peers then in college.

For the DH, I read in one of the debates he’ll reduce if not eliminate the very reason to work abroad by providing quality work and (by consequence) quality pay, and improving the quality of education. He’s going to create a consolidated trust (sss and pag-ibig included) fund for the OFWs too.
Seventh, that we must create JOBS for our people, so that they will not need to seek their fortunes abroad, but rather devote their talents directly to their country and their families;
I am but a small voice and this is my only way to let my voice heard. I’m imploring you to read the following in the hope that you’ll understand why I think that Richard Gordon is the right man to vote in the Philippines May 2010 presidential election. Please share it too if you think he’s deserving of the presidency. Thank you.

Richard “Dick” Gordon is the hope of the Philippines. Among the current presidential aspirants, he is the only one who has proven himself in the executive branch of government.

As Mayor of Olongapo City, he brought order not only to the streets of his city but also to the lives of his people. Mayor Dick Gordon stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the people of Olongapo, shoveling the ashfall, and recovering what was left of their lives. With him at the helm, they rebuilt their city and their lives, later becoming a model city for peace and order, health care, education, livelihood, and good governance.

After the US Military Base closed in November 1992, he inspired and empowered the local population and a fleet of young professionals from here and abroad, and turned Subic Bay into the country’s showcase for economic progress, bringing in billions in investments and creating almost 100,000 jobs. World leaders like Margaret Thatcher, Dr. Mahatir Mohammad, and U.S. President Bill Clinton came to Subic to see the miracle that was the great transformation – and they came away impressed. So with the 18 APEC head of economies during the 4th Leaders’ Summit held thereat.

While he was the author of the success that is the Subic Bay Freeport, a twist of events took him away, but in time brought him towards a call to serve more people, this time as Secretary of Tourism. He knew that tourism was the country’s ticket to development – the fastest way to progress. Through his “Wow Philippines” campaign, the country became well-known abroad, and tourists started coming. Despite the challenges of the times, with the removal from office of the sitting president, the SARS outbreak, the Oakwood mutiny, the Dos Palmas kidnapping, and numerous bombings, not to mention the global terrorism problem, Secretary Gordon kept tourism afloat. In doing so, he lived up to his mantra – “tourism means jobs; where tourism advances, poverty retreats.”

So great was his contribution to the tourism industry that its players begged him not to run for Senator in 2004. But the road has led him to the Philippine Senate, perhaps not the ideal place for a man of action, a man who wants to see results for the people now. Yet, he has distinguished himself as a prolific lawmaker, an advocate of legislation that seek to uplift our people and our country. He is the main author and advocate of an Automated Election System law. Through this system, Senator Gordon hopes to leave our people with elections that are clean, honest, fair, and credible. The Tourism Bill, signed into law recently, is also a result of Senator Gordon’s years of hard work advocating tourism development for our country. He is also the principal author of the Veterans Equity Law. And as Chairman of the Blue Ribbon Committee, he has shown that he is one who is never afraid to take a stand on any issue, firm but fair, serious and sincere.

Senator Gordon has held many positions, and succeeded beyond expectation at every single one of them. But I think that the job he loves the most is one that he has held for over forty years – his job as a volunteer of the Philippine National Red Cross. Today, he is its Chairman, and is a Governor of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, but his commitment and dedication to this organization and the work that it does goes far beyond title and position. In fact, in everything that he does, Senator Gordon goes beyond himself. We have seen him, above and beyond the call of duty, saving lives here in our own province as with Cabanatuan, Bulacan, Albay, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Leyte, and Aurora, among many others throughout the years. Wherever there is a disaster or calamity, you can be sure that he is there, always first, always ready, always there often endangering his own life, defying his family, in order to alleviate other people’s suffering and uplift human dignity. And when the disaster is over, count on him to be there to help rebuild the community. In recent months, people have seen him in the news because of the Red Cross kidnapping crisis. People have seen him passionate, aggressive, sad, sometimes even angry. If he has appeared emotional, it is because he is a leader who truly cares – the captain of a ship who treats all of his men like they are his own children, because to him every life matters and is worthy of every effort, attention, compassion, and caring that he can give – no matter what anybody else says.

Senator Gordon is a leader with a vision for the future of his people, and a clear strategy to get them there. He is a leader who has made change, and change for the better. He has brought dignity and hope to his people and has motivated and inspired others to go in the right direction, and he, along with everybody, has sacrificed much to get there. In everything he has done, he has seen for his people a new country – a Bagumbayan. He has brought them out of the darkness and into the light. And now, he calls everyone to break free of their own limitations to chase after the horizon, to step into the light, grab hold of their own future, and finally build a nation that is enabled, ennobled and free.

The difference is, Gordon has more executive background than Marcos did, despite the circumstances. The war from way back prevented Marcos from getting executive experience, compared to Gordon who started as Mayor.

Even though people think Gordon may have the same tendencies as Marcos, he repeatedly refuted it.

Aim High Olongapo. Prosperous Subic. WOW Philippines Tourism. 143 Red Cross, Most Exemplary Senator of the Philippines. Automation Law, Veteran’s Bill at marami pang iba.

I would like to kindly encourage you to act as soon as possible in our support for our candidates. kasi as the election comes nearer, the smaller the chance gets that we can convince people to pick the right choice and inform about Gordon and Bayani’s achievements and qualifications. be more assertive. Encourage people by talking to your relatives, friends and workmates. be active in participating social networking sites as facebook or friendster and show your support. don’t be afraid of people’s negative judgement of your involvement to the election. Remember, that we are the smarter people because we are taking the smarter decision by voting for the smarter candidates. This is for the sake of our country’s future. in the end, whether Gordon and/or Bayani win or lose, we knew we exercised our right to vote responsibly and we did our best to help other people make the right decision. i guess that will be the greatest consolation that we will get as citizens who dreamed a better future for our beloved nation.

SINO KAYA?

I’m not, despite years of harassment and threats. But many others are and who can blame them when Mr. Gordon is quoted in the Inquirer as saying; ” I don’t get mad ,I get even”. But even that quote is not true. In my 27 years experience here I know that Mr. Gordon gets very mad and then gets revenge. This just about explains why there is hardly ever a word of criticism about this government official who spent as much as P22 million on weapons, leg-irons and anti-riot equipment for Subic according to the SBMA 1994-95 budget. It also includes body chains, sniper scopes and 200 batons and riot shields as reported in my former “Reflections” in the Inquirer.

The silence of the lambs in Olongapo and elsewhere is understandable when faced with such weaponry and veiled threats. A Gordon controlled press office sees to it that endless praise releases are published with much fan-fare. If ever there have been critical reports readers will never know because we never see any, at least not since the demise of my column “Reflections”. Fearless views about Gordon are few and far between in the Inquirer these days.

Now all we get from the Inquirer is a weekly page of the Subic Bay News edited by a former CIA agent who also writes Gordon’s speeches and is proud of it. Let us never forget that when free speech is stifled dictatorship is alive, when news is replaced by propaganda the truth is dead. Under such veiled threats about “getting even” how could there be any credible independent research to verify the self-serving claims of Mr. Gordon about the success of the SBMA and himself as a great leader or an impartial enquiry into alleged abuses, exploitation and corrupt practices. The people or the media can never really know can they? Other media personalities with business interests and house leases at Subic find it hard not to look the other way when well founded allegations of corruption comes to light.

I have been silenced, threatened, spied upon, video taped and photographed, my phone interfered with and I have been under on-going surveillance since 1993 by Dick Gordon’s Subic secret intelligence unit for speaking out about human rights abuses. Enlarged photocopies of my photograph have been posted at the security gates to prevent my entry into the Subic Freeport area.

My co-workers, dedicated to upholding human rights, have also been harassed and black-listed on the records of the SBMA. The good thing is that honest God-fearing SBMA employees have courageously passed me the documents testifying to this. So if Gordon ever gets more power, then, as he says, he really will “get even”.

Mindanao’s future success will also depend heavily on what the new president will plan for Mindanao. As noted by Sen. Richard Gordon, one of the supporters of the MinDA bill, “Mindanao has to be developed immediately if only to stop the war out there. There are certain elements in Mindanao that will never be pacified, but there are more reasons to make sure that Filipinos, whether they are Muslim or Christian, are uplifted.”

For some time now, Senator Gordon has been talking about certain initiatives that he believes can help boost Mindanao’s economy. His proposed agenda involves major infrastructure development to make Mindanao the food basket of the Philippines, as well as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

He also stresses the need to focus on developing agribusiness and aquaculture; promote tourism in the region; uplift the level of dignity of native Muslims; inculcate in them national pride; and create opportunities for them to end a culture of dependency while ensuring that local officials are made accountable for their actions and that there would be peace and order on the island.

Perhaps, Gordon is too much of a dreamer. However, his success in transforming Subic in the early 1990s into the modern economic free port that is now, relying mostly on volunteerism, is enough indication of people’s ability to deal with adversities and to chart their own future. If only they choose to work hard to achieve success.

Among Gordon’s more interesting suggestions is the construction of a canal, similar to the Panama Canal, across Pangil Bay. This can help shorten maritime trips to Luzon and Visayas. To date, people and goods to and from Northern Mindanao bound for Southern Mindanao are forced to go around the Zamboanga Peninsula in Western Mindanao. But with the proposed canal, travel time to Southern Mindanao can be reduced significantly.

And this canal system can be complemented by the construction of a circular railroad system that will run through General Santos, Cotabato, Cagayan, Davao, Iligan, Misamis and Marawi. The railroad, he says, can allow trains to quickly transport people and cargo to promote trade and industry. In this line, Gordon even filed Senate Bill 2097 to create the Mindanao Railways Corp. Sadly, though, the bill failed to pass before Congress adjourned.

An existing institutive already proves the value of quick transportation for Mindanao. Perhaps learning from his experience as Subic administrator and as tourism secretary, Gordon has started the Fruits of Hope program, where farm goods from Sulu and Basilan are flown to Manila to be sold in big supermarkets. This program, he says, can be expanded to include marine goods and other produce.

Cotabato has, likewise, shown the way with fruits, rubber, palm and coconut oil. And the model, he says, can be adopted by implementing a massive information campaign to educate farmers on high-value crops like rubber, corn and fruits, and other export winners, and giving them adequate support in growing these products.

Another way of promoting Mindanao is through tourism, with the “marketing” person in Gordon pointing to Lake Lanao, Lake Mainit and Lake Sebu as similar to the world-famous Lake Geneva in Europe; the Liguasan marshes as the local version of Florida Everglades; and the beaches of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi just as beautiful as those in Boracay and Bohol province.

For someone who is not even from Mindanao, being the native son of Olongapo City in Zambales in Central Luzon, Gordon seems to have a lot of good and timely ideas for Mindanao. If only he can get the chance to implement them. Perhaps Mindanao and the rest of the country can finally benefit from the government attention that the island truly deserves.

O_O, hi. Don’t know what to address you. I believe you are in the inner circle of Gordon’s campaign. I saw his interview this morning at ANC. I think he will be getting my vote only if he has a chance of winning. My reason is that, I would rather vote for my second best choice for president so that “C5 and tiyaga” will not win.

So my suggestion is this: Why not specifically target in your campaign
(advertisements, sorties, rallies, posters, etc..) the STUDENT VOTE. This was what Senator Santiago did and she would have won if not for the cheating. I was hoping the student vote will create a ripple or bandwagon effect. Next stop would then be the marginalized sector in the what somebody calls “shadow economy”- tricycle drivers, vendors, carpenters, househelpers, etc… The student will be attracted by Gordon’s idealism and vision and his having no baggage to carry. Plus Gordon really looks like an amiable school official in the way he talks and carries himself, don’t you think? The other group I mentioned will be the most benefitted when he becomes the pres. Just show them what he did to SBMA and I think he will get there votes. Have some testimonial, perhaps, from those who lost their jobs then prospered during the glory days of SBMA.

For Gordon’s number to go up, IMAO, MAKE THEM THE SPECIFIC TARGET.

March 1, 2010 at 11:40 pm

Good suggestion. This is already being carried out by both Gordon himself and us supporters. Thanks for your input, we’ll be increasing more on this.

However, the “chance of winning” argument isn’t valid. You vote for Gordon, you take away a vote from the others. If 50 thousand others like you who are hesitant for Gordon will assure a solid vote for him, and convince others in a waterfall and domino effect, voting for Gordon will definitely not be a lost cause.

Do not believe in the surveys, as these are paid for to give the survey sponsor a good name. Only believe in who is worthy to be the president based on experience, track record and achievements. And of course you know it’s only Gordon who fits the bill.

This is not what current developments are telling me, both for Gordon and Eddie. Gordon is gaining while Eddie has been left in the dark.

For you, it’s too easy to make words like that, but there isn’t much people behind those words of yours.

I really believe Gordon will take the majority of voters from Mindanao, public school teachers, students, families of school teachers. I considered these people “the silent voters”. Gordon has done good things for Mindanao like the recognition (9th ray), peace, and democracy. His platform for Mindanao like the increase infrastructure, aquatic, agriculture, fruit of hopes, etc. For teachers, “The Kindle” for all public school students and the 12,000 to 40,000 teacher’s salary. Whose parent would not want a “Kindle” to be given for their children. He will win those parents votes as well. He has a unique plan to do it. It will be an easy task for him since he has made the impossible task to become possible just like what he accomplished at Subic during the deadly Pinatubo calamity. People like Wawam just don’t realize this. He is hitting the inner soul of the masses. My aunt’s whole clan who is a public school teacher will vote for him when they heard the life changing salary the he already proposed. If Villar is using his money to advertise using poor children and Noynoy is using celebrities. This is Gordon’s unique way of reaching out to the masses. He just need to market it to the people. O_O, maybe he can advertise the “Kindle” like a simple animation just like the “I-phone” or “Google New phone’s” commercial. It just not going to cut it if Gordon kept waving the “Kindle” on TV. The public might think it’s only a “Calculator”, it’s not really connecting to the public. Show it up close and personal using professional animation. This will be an interesting idea.

Final Statements of Gordon and Bayani in Unang Hirit:

Bayani.

Gordon: All my life, 33 years sa gobyerno. naging Concon delegate ho ako, ginawa ko dun Bill of Duties. Kaylangan may sweldong matapat, mataas. Wag kayong magduda. ITAGA N’YO SA BATO, YOU WILL HAVE CLEAN, HONEST AND MOST EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT!

Please check this website. This is just one of the fruits of labor that Senator Richard Dick Gordon have planted when he founded SBMA. People of Olongapo and Subic and people who migrated to Olongapo NOW ENJOY. This is just an example of what our country would become if Richard Gordon becomes the president. Sabi nya itaga mo sa bato. He has yet to break his promise. He will always deliver on his promises. The article states “Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Co. opened over the weekend a P40-million modern training center in the Subic Bay Freeport. “This training center is just one among the many good things that are happening in the Subic Freeport for the past six months and Hanjin will be the biggest shipyard in the country with a committed investment of more than $1 billion,” said Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority administrator Armand Arreza. “BY 2016, HANJIN WILL MANUFACTURE THE WORLD’S LARGEST GAS TANKER AND CARGO SHIP IN THIS FACILITY MANPOWER REQUIREMENT: INITIALLY AROUND 7,000 AND WILL PEAK TO 40 THOUSAND DIRECT AND INDIRECT WORK OPPORTUNITIES.”
Click this link…… Subic Bay is looking for Filipino skilled workers. If you ever get a job, please remember it is because of Senator Gordon’s relentless effort to create Jobs for Filipinos. So instead of volunteering for Villar, Noynoy, or Erap, get a job and help the country move forward. TAYO NA SA PAGBABAGO! PAALALA LANG PO. Eduardo Villanueva aka Bro Eddie used to be an Economic Teacher in one of the state universities before become a Pastor. If its a state university then he served already as a government employee before anyone of the presidentiables. PUP IS CONSIDERED AS A PANGMASA AT MAKA MAHIRAP NA ESKUWELAHAN. ANYWAYS, for a longest time, Bro. Eddie served also for 10years as Board of Regents in the same school which means pag naging Board of Regents ka abay hindi ka basta basta. If he envisioned and of help for such a school and when become a Pastor able to establish a JIL School, indeed he is a man not just of words but of action.

• March 18, 2010 at 9:06 am

Wow, thats quite a claim! But can I ask a favor from you?… Can you kindly watch these 2 short videos? After doing that, convince me that Eddie can do better. I’ll gladly vote for your candidate than Gordon if you can prove that Gordon is a lesser “public servant”.

Hope this one opens your eyes, friend. Simply being a Pastor and teaching at a “pangmasa at makamahirap na eskwelahan” is not enough when compared to Gordon’s track record.

it is because you have a one-tracked mind and you are the one who has to open your eyes .. to you, no one is qualified except your candidate .. it is obvious that you did not even take the time to consider the capabilities of the other candidates and even if you did, you didn’t care .. to me, BROTHER EDDIE is better than your dick gordon because of the WILL, the PLAN and the CHARACTER of the person that this country needs to uplift the lives of each and every filipino and not just of the chosen few .. sa kandidato ko walang palakasan, sa kandidato mo wala din ba? .. i see nick perlas as even better than your dick gordon because looking at the his platform of government, his stands second to that of BROTHER EDDIE .. BROTHER EDDIE’s and nick perlas’ blueprint for the betterment of the filipino people is DEEPER than that of your dick gordon .. sa kanila, kapakanan ng bawat pilipino ang mahalaga kaya ikaw ang magbukas ng iyong mga mata ..

March 18, 2010 at 6:15 pm

>>it is obvious that you did not even take the time to consider the capabilities of the other candidates and even if you did, you didn’t care

Oh but we did…

Noynoy: INEXPERIENCED!
Gibo: Kulang. And a greenhorn.
Erap: NEVER AGAIN.
Jamby: Well duh…
JC: A greenhorn.
Perlas: Greenhorn, kulang and a never-heard-of.
Eddie: Tinimbang NGUNIT KULANG.

>>to you, no one is qualified except your candidate

And it is the truth. No one can match his track record. No one has selflessly helped and empowered people the way Dick Gordon did, facing IMPOSSIBLE odds. This proves what he can do.

>>to me, BROTHER EDDIE is better than your dick gordon because of the WILL, the PLAN and the CHARACTER of the person that this country needs to uplift the lives of each and every filipino and not just of the chosen few

Oh please. Dick Gordon already did that with Olongapo and Subic. He’s proven his ability to do exactly that. He also does that by bringing out the best, not just uplift lives. Dick Gordon wants every Filipino empowered and able to stand on their own. Now that’s a plan miles ahead of Eddie’s.

>>i see nick perlas as even better than your dick gordon because looking at the his platform of government

What good is a platform to the one that doesn’t have elaborate ways and means to do it like Dick Gordon’s? Also Dick Gordon’s platform, however fragmented, speaks from experience in his prior stints in governance. Platoforms are sweet, those Gibo fans rebuking at us think Dick Gordon plans to fail because he has no plan– in the form of platform, but they’re deluded. Dick Gordon is already speaking his platforms… you’re probably too ignorant or maybe mentioning it will kill the point of your speech.

Fool. Kapakanan is nothing without empowerment. The Filipino must learn to live by without dire support, like how citizens of other countries do. All the government needs to do is provide consistent services that is true, sincere and transparent. Live by inspiration, drive and self-initiative to uplift oneself. Ang mag-kusa. E kayo, Perlas and Eddie will emphasize they are the savior and without them, the Philippines is doomed. Dick Gordon will emphasize that the Filipino is not a lost cause and will teach every Filipino, in a figurative sense, to fish. So that the Filipino will no longer need to beg.

This is what sets Dick Gordon apart from your candidates that are more of the has-beens.

And if you don’t like the idea of your candidate being scoffed off… you should learn to know your place before you type.

AHAHAH! But he is! For the presidency! The same demand for qualifications apply lest our country will be a hellhole again! Credentials-wise, he’s trounced by the likes of Gordon, who has more executive experience. Elections is not done by awa or pananalig, you analyze critically if this man will do well. Experience, achievements and track records are tangible proof of what he can do.

And Villar has done it to other candidates. What do you think that says? Palibhasa you’re trying to hijack Gordon voters into Eddie, like you’re doing in the Noynoy page and others. Nabara at nasupalpal ka lang because in qualifications, Gordon is worlds apart. And you know this very well. You are a free man, but when you make absurd claims, don’t expect it to go unanswered.

You picked the wrong thread to hijack.

“AHAHAH! But he is! For the presidency! The same demand for qualifications apply lest our country will be a hellhole again! Credentials-wise, he’s trounced by the likes of Gordon, who has more executive experience.”

“Elections is not done by awa or pananalig, you analyze critically if this man will do well. Experience, achievements and track records are tangible proof of what he can do.”

“And Villar has done it to other candidates. What do you think that says?”

“Palibhasa you’re trying to hijack Gordon voters into Eddie, like you’re doing in the Noynoy page and others.”

“Nabara at nasupalpal ka lang because in qualifications, Gordon is worlds apart. And you know this very well.”

“You are a free man, but when you make absurd claims, don’t expect it to go unanswered.”

you see my claims as absurd because you don’t see the character of this man, BROTHER EDDIE .. you don’t see because you don’t want to see .. kasi nga “ah basta kay dick gordon ako, tapos” ..

“You picked the wrong thread to hijack.”

hmm ..

That is not what happened in Olongapo and Subic. Why? Because Gordon warned them not to be lazy nor ignorant, and told them to aim high.

Dick Gordon. Olongapo. Red Cross. Empowerment is much better, people are taught to defend themselves and survive without dire need of help.

Which is also in Gordon. He’s everything in one. He has Noynoy’s pristine personality, Villar’s tenacity to get out of poverty, Gibo’s galing at talino, Erap’s makamasa figure, esp in times of need, Eddie’s charisma to inspire, Perlas’ visionary and unconventional governance, and JC’s vitality to serve.

I would not assert these to you if they’re not true.

In retaliation, but after that, I have not done so anymore. There’s better places to convince people other than this place. And the reason? Outlandish and untrue claims.

Of course. But it becomes a different story once you make claims na hindi mo mapapatunayan.

>>you see my claims as absurd because you don’t see the character of this man, BROTHER EDDIE .. you don’t see because you don’t want to see .. kasi nga “ah basta kay dick gordon ako, tapos” ..

Ganito lang yan: Kay Dick Gordon ako because he’s a complete package. He’s everything we need as president, and unfortunately, others either may kulang, hindi qualified or are just nuisances.

Hindi ako “ah basta.” I will give you reasons if you ask me. And I’ve done so for the past few threads here.

TLDR: Gordon is all-in-one.

whoever rated this comment down, what is wrong with this comment? .. please explain and i will accept it if it is acceptable .. can’t you see that BROTHER EDDIE is so fed up with the “trapos” who promise this and promise that but the welfare of “juan” is still in shambles? .. more than 30 years passed but BROTHER EDDIE did not seek the presidency until now .. kung talagang plano niyang maging presidente eh di sana nuong mga sampung taon o labinlimang taon siyang nasa limelight .. pero hindi, talagang punong-puno na lang talaga sa KASALBAHIHAN ng mga traditional politicians na walang puntirya kung hindi patabain ang laman ng kanilang bulsa .. ang mga “trapos” kung magplano ng stratehiya, sa palagay ko, para makamtan ang kanilang nasain, ay mga lima hanggang sampung taon .. kaya nga kakaiba si BROTHER EDDIE, ang gusto lang niya ay mapabuti ang kapakanan ng bawat isang kababayan niya .. wala siyang MAITIM NA BALAK na magpayaman katulad ng marami diyan .. kaya ako BROTHER EDDIE ako .. eto tatanggapin kong i-rate down mo kasi hindi ka bilib kay BROTHER EDDIE ..

lets make it this way gus… all of the presidentiable make a list of their good deeds..

Guys don’t mind him. He’s been trolling around being such a piss to other Presidentiable pages. Either he’s paid to do it, or he just does not have anything better to do. If you really support Brother Eddie, then you just shut up and support his page. You are just adding more and more reasons for us not to vote him. Are you part of his Religious caravan? If so, then you’ve just proven how a-holes you guys can get. I’m a Catholic, not a fanatic. Go get a life, pray, and follow the bible… Oh wait… Debate about the bible.. I forgot to add that.

i can see na malakas na kandidato si Dick Gordon kahit pa medyo huli sya sa survey.. marami tuloy ang nagsasabi na sayang daw ang boto natin kay Gordon kase hinde naman daw sya popular kesyo ibigay na lang sa mas popular kandidate ang boto natin… ang masasabi ko lang, wag natin tignan ang survey.. let’s vote for what our conscience says… kaya kung si Gordon ang kandidato mo, just vote for him and if he’s support just unite till the last, he might even make it for the win… kaya let’s vote not on who’s popular but on who’s right! :)

Where did does people come from? Are you born here in the Philippines or you just LAZY to do a research on the candidates running for PRESIDENT and relying heavily on those STUPID SURVEYS that the local channels often show? Telling the public the Gordon has NO EXPERIENCE being a leader and NO EXPERIENCE on PUBLIC OFFICE. How DUMB can you be when all of his WORK and ACCOMPLISHMENTS are known to all Filipinos. All you need is to use your BRAIN to look for it and do your study. Here’s a hint you can find it on newspapers on TV and especially on the INTERNET.

FYI, with BAYANI as his vice its a sure win for the Philippines. It will be a fast growth of our economy when these two is running our land.
