Aquino satisfaction best since Q1 2014

PUBLIC SATISFACTION with President Benigno S. C. Aquino III hit its highest point in one-and-a-half years this quarter, fueled by significant improvements in most geographical areas except Mindanao and across socioeconomic classes except ABC, according to results of the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

latest poll shows president aquino’s net satisfaction rating is on the rise, highest since Q1 2014 according to SWS as published at Business World. this confirms once again that president aquino is the country’s most popular president.

this rise in satisfaction rating comes at a great time for Mar Roxas who recently had announced he is running for president under the LP. this is a benefit to Roxas as Aquino has endorsed Roxas’ run for the presidency.

Roxas has declared he is ready for the presidency and accepts the challenge of continuing Aquino’s “daang matuwid” governance and the platform by which aquino won the election by a landslide.

the “daang matuwid” and aquino’s rising popularity is in contrast to the continuing unanswered graft and corruption charges against Roxas’ main rival for the presidency VP Jejomar Binay.

Roxas is a far third in the latest polls although he has recovered significantly in the latest poll from the previous. Aquino’s endorsement of Roxas may give Roxas the push to challenge the leader Poe and the previous leader Binay. Poe now leads the polls, followed by Binay and Roxas at third.

the latest presdientiables surveys will be released soon, lets see how this all plays out for Roxas.

chiz escudero to annnounce 2010 political plans august 27, without drama queen loren legarda

October 27, 2009 Leave a comment

escudero, based on this news article is scheduled to announce hos 2010 political plans tomorrow at 10 am. finally!

we hope he will announce he is running for president. with the way escudero has been acting, we really can’t tell for sure. he first made a big deal about his birthday, then ondoy as the reason for not doing it then.

we do not have inside information, but based on the news article below, it looks like the postponement in the announcement was caused by two things – uncertainty on what his party the NPC, founder by danding cojuangco, will do and drama queen loren legarda’s wishy-washy indecision on what to do with her own plans.

after reading this article, we think we were pretty close to the truth of the possibility of escudero being orphaned – not having a political party. now, it looks like he might not have a VP partner too.

this article now talks of other VP partners other than legarda . its a strange list – jejomar binay, grace po and ace durano. with that kind of a list, we think he has no one.

we will know by tomorrow. we wish chiz escudero well.

ps: with the way things are and the drama between drama queen legarda and escudero, it looks like the villar-legarda tandem is the thing that will happen.

MANILA, Philippines—After several delays, Sen. Francis Escudero is to finally announce his intention to run for President under the Nationalist People’s Coalition on Wednesday but his would-be running-mate and party colleague, Sen. Loren Legarda, was “not expected” to attend, members of his campaign team said.

The campaign team sent out a media advisory Tuesday saying that Escudero will make a “very important political announcement” at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Club Filipino in San Juan instead of a previously scheduled 6 p.m. event at the Bahay ng Alumni at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.

Memo To: Senator Loren Legarda – Stop Waffling Already!

Dear Senator Legarda,

We swear we like you, we do, sincerely. But please, oh please – get it over with, release us from our pain and tell us already what it is you want to do in 2010. Your actions since the end of last year has been very confusing to us, irritating even.

We were glad to see early this year your tv ads that was obviously a signal

loren legarda gives us a headache

loren legarda gives us a headache

You are running for president. Your ads got noticed. Then you disappeared all of a sudden.

Then from out of nowhere, you say you are postponing your candidacy in light of the global financial crisis, an action we thought qualified you as having the  ADS? Sindrome (click here: http://wp.me/pnw03-8v). After having ADS? Sindrome, you disappeared again.

Then after that, you said you are still determined to run as president. (click here: http://wp.me/pnw03-p8). You attend forums for presidentiables but everything else you do is either half-hearted or neither here nor there.

Just recently, as a reaction to ondoy, you said you are thinking of not running anymore. you were thinking that rather than spend money on the campaign, it should be spent for the victims of ondoy. (click here: http://wp.me/pnw03-IP)

Legarda said it was “unconscionable” for politicians like her to campaign while many people, like the victims of “Ondoy,” were crying for help.

You seem to be affected so much by big events like the global financial crisis and now the ondoy disaster. Your reaction to these big events is to withdraw instead of helping people. You seem to be missing the point that at these times of big events, it is strong leadership that the country needs, specially those who have become victims of these events. Big events like these happen all the time and to every country, I  get nightmares thinking if you were president and every time the country experiences a huge event, you go and withdraw somewhere to your room and shrink instead of  helping out and abandon your leadership role.

With the 2010 election getting closer, new candidates coming up and groups firming up, here you are again confusing us further. Its hard to tell exactly what you are saying. We do not know if you are running for president or if you want to be vice-president. This is now the latest news.

We will stop here and will refuse to analyze your latest moves. More importantly, we will refuse to make sense of it.

What makes sense to us is this – you are not only indecisive, you are very  wishy-washy and very much prone to knee-jerk reactions with very little thought put into anything and everything you do.

Needless to say, you drive us crazy. Please save us from this pain and make up your mind already.

Sincerely,

~wawam~

Legarda: 5 presidential bets want me for No. 2

MANILA, Philippines—Sen. Loren Legarda appears to be the current belle of the ball.

By her own account, five presidential hopefuls have asked her to be their running mate in 2010—and she’s weighing her options.

Legarda herself has her sights set on the presidency. Whether she will go for No. 1 or slide down to No. 2 is a decision that she will announce in the last week of the month or, at the earliest, on her late mother’s birthday on Oct. 22.

“Once I make my decision, I will run to win,” Legarda said Wednesday. “I will not enter a fight that I will lose. I will run to win the hearts of the people.”

She also said she was “realistic,” that she “sees the numbers,” and that she would run for “wherever I’m more desired by the people to serve.”

“If I’m topping the polls for the vice president, I’ll listen to the people,” she said, adding that she would take the same stance vis-à-vis the presidential surveys.

And how is Legarda faring in the vice presidential polls?

Per her reckoning, she’s “doing good.”

‘Serious’ suitors

And “there are five ‘presidentiables’ who are asking me to run with them,” Legarda said.

She said she had spoken personally with three, and that the two others had sent emissaries.

noynoy aquino’s surge in 2010 Presidentiables Blog Poll – “build it and they will come”

September 12, 2009 9 comments

there  is this famous line in the kevin costner movie, “Field Of Dreams” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_of_Dreams) where costner’s character is a farmer who decides to build a baseball field in his farm to use it as an attraction for people to go to so that his farm can stay financially solvent. while walking in the fields, he hears a voice “if you build it, he will come”. he refers to costner’s dad with whom he had a few unsettled issues. kostner builds the baseball field, settles the issues with his dad and as the voice said people from all over came to see the “field of dreams”

we wonder if that is what is happening to noynoy’s presidentialnoynoy aquino surge in poll candidacy. an aquino or much less noynoy as a presidential candidate was something nobody dreamed about. that was so until tita cory died and people started thinking of noynoy. even at the time when that was thought of, people were uncertain about noynoy. he took some time deciding and during that period of consideration, we did not really know how people will  react to noynoy.

but here we are, just 3 days since noynoy announced his candidacy and the poll in this blog shows noynoy gaining as of this writing an impressive 17%,  putting noynoy already tied at second place with escudero and past villar and fernando.

when noynoy built, did they start coming in?

are we being told here that all that noynoy did was announce his candidacy and people will on their own, even without the advertising spending that villar has been doing, people will come and support him?

certainly the media has given noynoy a lot of attention, in the past few days getting on front page news if not headline news. the administration’s attempt to discredit noynoy even before he [proclaimed to be a candidate seem to indicate they see him as front runner. it was premature on the part of the administration but that seemed to be the impression they are giving us.

this is the internet and the overwhelming support noynoy got in the pol in this blog mostly came from those with facebook accounts. that hardly represents the voter profile in the country but it we can’t stop thinking of the question and yes the possibility that as it has happened in this blog, they will also come out there in the real world.
