a few days before the election, PMs (privatee message) was sent to members of the yellow army. this PM engaged members to act as a group days leading to the eleciton.

there were essentially 2 posts that started the formation of the yellow army as a group. the first one was the call to have a common avatar, a thread entitled: The Spirit of Volunteerism: PEX Yellow Army Unites! (http://www.pinoyexchange.com/forums/showthread.php?t=441196).

there were already supporter of aquino posting in that bulletin board but this was the first time individuals identified themselves as a member of a group through the avatars.  first posted april 23, 2010.

with just a few days to go and both aquino and roxas leading in the polls, it’s good to remind everyone, specially the aquino-roxas supporters to GET OUT AND VOTE!

it’s dangerous to be complacent and over-confident to think that since aquino and roxas are leading in the polls, they are a sure win in this election and your vote is no longer needed.

that is not at all true. a sure win or not, your vote is needed by aquino and roxas.

for aquino and roxas supporters —- make sure you vote on election day and get others to go to the precincts to cast their votes. it’s important that each vote for aquino and roxas are counted.

we thought  it was an excellent  idea for the aquino-roxas election campaign. the campaign have been getting excellent survey results one after the other and the risk was that supporters might think it’s a done deal and might not go out and vote.

building on that idea, we decided to add the component of the “election landslide”  – sending the message that supporters were not just being asked to vote to get aquino-roxas to win the election but for landslide win. we thought pushing it one more level up will give it a stronger punch and make it even more attractive to supporters.

we re-packaged the message into the 1 vote supporters will give aquino-roxas will result to a landslide win,

the above 2 threads became the common thread that the yellow army went to. they posted in those threads not only to advance its cause but also tomake their presence felt. the members kept posting in those threads to get these at the top of the page.

 there is a member of the yellow army in that bulletin board who sent PMs to known aquino-roxas supporters encouraging them to change their avatars to the yellow badge. this individual worked very hard on his/her own and sent dozens of PMs.
