bro. eddie villanueva, presidentiable takes a marketing strategy destined to fail

eddie villanueva pagkakaisaeddie villanueva siyempre

today, on Ninoy’s Day, bro. eddie villanueva will announce his candidacy for president in some church some place. these two  print ads plus one more we already posted in this blog also appeared at PDI as  teasers to today’s event.

we noted the shameless use of the color yellow in the ad obviously evoking the memory of cory aquino best known for her trademark yellow clothes and yellow ribbon. choosing ninoy day as the day to announce candidacy is highly consistent with this strategy of shamelessly picking up on the yellow , cory and ninoy bandwagon.

we are worried for bro. eddie villanueva.

first of all and most importantly, we think his shameless use of the yellow and evoking cory and ninoy is very contrive and well, shameless. it defies one of the most important rules in marketing and communication 101 — to be unique. picking up the yellow is certainly not being unique, it is copying.

which leads us to the second point and this in many ways is as important as the first — bro. eddie villanueva may be setting himself up for under-performance or failure at the most.

the pulling on the yellow and evoking the aquinos puts on himself a very huge standard. he is putting himself in comparison to the country’s most famous heroes of all time. cory and ninoy represent the best and the good of what the filipino is all about. evoking them will automatically make people compare bro. eddie to them.

we do not think anyone has been born yet who can even compare to one fourth of what cory and ninoy had done. we do not even think that is even possible in our lifetime.

any kind of comparison will make bro. eddie fail and pale badly in comparison. we will never see the good in him, we will only see the small in him compared to cory and ninoy. and that is the tragedy of the marketing and communication campaign strategy bro. eddie took.

it is strange and a true tragedy that bro. eddie  took a strategy destined to fail. a definite WAWAM!

umm. please dont underestimate the ability to win of bro. eddie villanueva..

he is not imitating the color yellow..
incidentally, yellow is a sign of victory..

yes your right, i also notice that his yellow theme resembles aquino and his hand symbol ,V,, resembles marcos.. i think it is really a big incident..

but we will not allow to lose this time..

yellow na talaga yung kulay ng Bangon Pilipinas since nung 2004 elections pa. hindi siya gumagaya sa bandwagon. it represents the color of sunrise, to symbolize the dawn of a new beginning for the philippines.
“we do not think anyone has been born yet who can even compare to one fourth of what cory and ninoy had done. we do not even think that is even possible in our lifetime.”
if you think like this, it’s just like saying na wala nang pag-asa ang pilipinas.. c’mon! we need righteous leadership in this country. we honor what ninoy and cory had done but i hope the hope for the filipinos won’t certainly die with them. we must fight for our country and the future of our children! please, maniwala naman tayo sa goodness. May pag-asa pa!!! The moment we give up all hope is the moment we fail. Let’s keep fighting for our nation. 😉

I agree with you honey. Saying hindi pa pinapanganak ang papantay kay Ninoy and Cory is a just a negative thought.

So it means, the author of these blog won’t ever give his self for the benefit of this nation? Kasi hindi nya kayang gawin ginawa ni Ninoy eh, am I right?

ngayon ko lang nabasa ang kay wawam na ito… masyado naman ang paghanga nya sa kay ninoy at cory…i am also a supporter.. but to say na wala makakapantay sa kanila in our lifetime is sobrang pagmaliit sa kakayahan ng Pilipino… agree ako sau rica.. hwag tayong masyadong emotional sa mga bagay bagay.. dapat sa atin mag-research para tayo ay well-informed. kung boxing ito.. at sinabi nya na wala makakapantay sa galing ni pacquiao sa boxing.. in our lifetime, eh, 100% agree ako, dyan.. he’s even popular than cory and ninoy!!!!

    hi there wawam,

i think you did not do your “assignments” before writing this post… (‘,’)

    tama yung sabi ni “honey”,
… “yellow na talaga yung kulay ng Bangon Pilipinas since nung 2004 elections pa. hindi siya gumagaya sa bandwagon”…

… i’m glad though that this blog has become a “hotspot” for bro. eddie, and it seems that it’s thanks to us that your blog is gaining visibility…

cool isn’t it? everything works for good…

    • October 19, 2009 at 9:13 am

the EDSA revolution which occured in 1986 pre-dates bro. eddie. yellow as everyone knows and that includes the rest of the world knows it is cory’s color.

Yes, I agree with you guys, being charge with copying seems they have the only right to wear yellow. Bro. Eddie Villanueva is a righteous man and most of those who cannot see closes their eyes to the truth. However, those who don’t want to see the light that shines as on my part the color yellow stands for may God open their blinded eyes. Surely the Lord is strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle will fight for us. God bless Bro. Eddie Villanueva and God bless our beloved Philippines.

    • October 19, 2009 at 8:58 am

I superagree with you, Wawam. This is pure human strategy. Even in 2004, ECV has been using human strategy, not God’s, to propel him to the throne. Remember the over estimation of his rallies? 5 million daw in the meeting de avance. E, less than 2M lang ang boto nya. This is contrary to what God did in the OT- He reduced his army to just 300 to defeat another mighty army.

If God was with him he would have won.

I think he should just run for senator. Pero kahit dito, mahirap na rin syang manalo.

      • October 19, 2009 at 9:17 am

what is bro. eddie doing that is different from what he did in 2004? if he is doing exactly the same thing and nothing new, the result in 2010 will be excatly like what happened in 2004 – he will not get elected president.

bro. eddie and his followers need to see the reality of what is happening. i think its a waste for bro. eddie to continue his run for president. he will again lose this time.

rather than run for president, he should just seek a senate seat. if he gets elected, then he can continue what he wants to achieve as a senator. he will serve the country, the people and his followers much better as an elected senator than as a losing presidentiable.

i have the same views on nick perlas.

Do not just underestimate the power of God in the life of God’s children. Persecuted but never abandoned. NOTE: DEAR FRIEND,YOU ARE PRECIOUS IN GOD’S SIGHT! TRUST GOD WHO DIED FOR YOU! Remember God works in various ways and you can’t even tell where the wind will blow, also wait,God’s mighty armies are carrying the banner of victory as time is of the essence. We have faith! We will never abandon ship. We will continue our support and pray for BRO. EDDIE VILLANUEVA FOR PRESIDENT. GOD BLESS BRO. EDDIE GOD BLESS BANGON BAGONG PILIPINAS.

          • October 20, 2009 at 10:08 am

Janet, I know my place in God’s kingdom. I trust Jesus who died for me. Just bcoz I can no longer support ECV after seeing the light of his candidacy, and after realizing it is not thru him that God will bless this land but thru every faithful follower like you and me, doesn’t mean I am no longer a Christian or have lost my faith (on the contrary…). Janet, my wish is for you to see the light also. You are supporting a religious leader who is a good man but who prophesied falsely but never repented for it. I believe God will bless this nation if His children will start believing in themselves as vessels thru which God’s kingdom “shall work thru the whole dough” and not put their hope on one man (ECV). That to me is unbelief, janet. When will you start believing in the work you do for God’s kingdom, janet? Do we really need brother eddie for God to bless this land? Wala kayong believe of what God can do thru you.

There is a chance to have a true christian president and you will not support him? Timpaul is that what God telling you to do? I can see that all you keep on doing, is trying to persuade people for not voting Bro Eddie. One of the purpose why He is running, is for the advancement of the Gospel, and the christians now about that. I cannot believe a professing christian like you will do anything like this, without thinking of good welfare of nation. Wake up Timpaul, if “Ondoy” can not wake you up, wait for some more. Bro Eddie is not defending himself but God will. Im sorry for you.

what is the big deal about villanueva being a true christian? villanueva does not have a monopoly on christian beliefs, there are other candidates who have the same thing.

              • October 21, 2009 at 12:02 pm

God is telling me not to support a false prophet no matter how sincere he is, how righteous he is, how charismatic he is. And I am telling others to do the same.

                  October 22, 2009 at 12:49 am

Bro. Eddie is not a false prophet, He is living thru faith in God not by sight. As a servant of God, I believe in Prophecies base on the Word of God as He is in control of everything. Eventhough it will be a short wait or a long wait it will come in an appointed time,it speaks of an end and it will not prove false. Though it linger I need to wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. God wants His people to be patient! Though it tarry, I believe God will work out His plans. Hindi madaling maghintay if you don’t have a right relationship with Him. That is why we are standing firm that God is on our side, and that He hates wickedness, saddened by corruption and injustices… Huwag po tayong mawalan ng pag asa… ME PAG ASA PA…BABANGON ANG BAGONG PILIPINAS… We must have to realized also that faith in God alone would supply answers to our questions. Trusting Him fully even when we don’t understand why He works as He does. BRO EDDIE we PRAY and SUPPORT YOU. God bless

timpaul, so you won’t vote this elections because you say you are not putting your trust in one man? medyo magulo ang isip mo. Me presidential elections tayo and it is a privilege to choose a servant-leader whom God will use to lead our country. Kung sinasabi mong Christian ka, bakit ayaw mo sa isang sumusunod sa Diyos? It seems na gusto mo pang ipagkatiwala ang bansa natin sa mga sumasamba sa diyus-diyosan? So sad!

to the supporters of villanueva who use a lot of the prophecies, their faith and religious beliefs in as basis for their support for villanueva and their belief that he will win the 2010 election – what if villanueva does not win? what will happen to your faith and religious neliefs? if villanuecva loses, that means your understanding of the prophecies and your faith is wrong or you were told the wrong thing. will you question your faith? how will you rationalize the loss of villanueva in the election?

No destructive words that could ever stop Bro. Eddie Villanueva to win this time. Yellow color has been used since 2004, and it isn’t used just to copy somebody’s chosen color. You have to be very sure you perfectly know what you are saying before you finally post anything here again as it is the true servant of the Lord you are coming against with. FEAR GOD and spare yourself from destruction.

I voted for Bro. Eddie in the past election and though he lost I did not regret that decision. It was not because of any Cindy Jacobs prophecy (which I just watched recently). I cried after I heard the prophesy because it was a conditional prophecy “if Christians would fast”. I asked God, why should it be a conditional prophecy when God is sovereign. He who is most powerful can put any leader in position if He wants to. This verse came to my mind as if God silently quieted my troubled heart. “If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land” (II Chron 7:14). Only in humility will God heal our land and it will take Bro. Eddie’s humility..and that of every God loving Filipino’s prayer…to seek God to heal our land. It is not dependent on any marketing strategy. God has given us the formula and everyone who puts his hope in man to heal our land will doom to fail. I voted for Eddie Villanueva only because he believes that in God, the Philippines still has hope. With corruption so ingrained in our government, we need a miracle working God to change hearts. May we all pray to God with sincerity on who to vote for in the coming elections and stop hurling accuses and insults to one another. Only in the spirit of humility will the Filipinos win. Rignt now, I am praying that God will guide me to the right Presidential candidate. I may still vote for Bro. Eddie. I am not done praying and by doing so, then I know I am putting my trust in God and not in man.
